Need to narrow down my dining choices as we are paying OP, so not doing TS everyday. Trying to make decisions and getting myself more confused everyday.....Was wondering which is more fun/better value, Ohana breakfast or dinner? Kids love Stitch, but dinner looks tasty and I see they do other things. Plus I like that fact that both are NOT buffet. Dh and I have been to Hawaii before, so the whole luau feel isn't that important. Just want kids to have fun, but I also want good food.

My first thought for fun is all character meals, but the 3yr eats like a bird so not really thrilled to pay set pricing for her everywhere we go. We've already got two meals like that so would consider Ohana only if it's really good. I've read reviews and still can't make up my mind. We"re probably only doing 5 or 6 TS ressies out of 11 days, so that makes it even harder.

Reservations that are SOLID:

Fantasmic! Package MM (dinner)
1900 PF (breakfast) daughter's bday meal
T-Rex

Resv that are flexible for better options:

Coral Reef (lunch)-only eating here if we can land a tank view.
Planet Hollywood (dinner) using the $15 voucher
Rainforest Cafe AK (lunch- have safari club discount)

Ones that I've considered:

Tusker House (breakfast)
The Plaza
Teppan Edo
Trail's End dinner (will be @ FW one night for campfire sing a long so was considering this instead of PH for that day)

Places we've already been:

Coral Reef (not by tank)
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)
Sci Fi
Marrakesh
Nine Dragons
Kona (dinner)
50's PT

We really liked Tusker House this past fall. My girls loved it. the food was yummy with unique options and the juice... don't get me started on that. My girls hate juice yet loved that one to show you how yummy it was.

Me, my wife, and my brother all went to Teppan Edo. It's fantastic. I didn't expect to like it, given that I'm such a picky eater. But it was probably my favorite. Good show, too.

Just want to let you know that they cannot guarantee seating by the tank. You honestly won't know until you check in and they walk you to your table. So you might want to consider taking that off your list if you aren't willing to take your chances.

I would have to agree that the Safari Breakfast at Tusker House in AK is great! I have always wanted to try Teppan Edo, it sounds great. In EP I also love the bakery in France for a snack or light meal.

Out of your list of considerations, Tusker House breakfast is my favorite. I think the food is very good.

Thank you for the replies so far. Was still wondering about people's view on the Stitch breakfast vs Ohana.

And yes, I know I'll have to wait to ask for tank side at CR when we check in. Just wondered if they were very accommodating about it. After recently reading some of the horror stories about sitting that close, I'm starting to reconsider. I think it's coming off the list....

We've been to both breakfast and dinner at Ohana. For quite some time, Ohana dinner was one of our favorites. I still really like the salad, bread, potstickers, wings and dessert (which is saying a lot, because I usually don't like bread pudding.) And while we like the appetizers and dessert, the meats have just been OK. We have the same issue with our kids - a pre-schooler and two pre-teen "Disney adults." They don't eat much and they usually just eat a little bit of the kids' items like mac and cheese and chicken nuggets, and that's it - so the cost of dinner is pretty high for us now.

As for the breakfast at Ohana, we love it. We were just there eight days ago. The character interaction (Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch) is great - some of the best we've experienced at WDW - and we enjoyed the food. I'm not much of a breakfast eater, but I really liked the breads, the fruit, juice, coffee and (I know this is highly unusual and I'm probably entirely alone in this) the bacon. They also served Mickey waffles, potatoes, eggs, biscuits and sausage. Our server frequently asked if we wanted more of anything and brought lots of anything we requested. The service was outstanding and the view of the castle and lagoon from our table was really nice. We'll be back again next month, and we'll return to Ohana for breakfast on the first morning of the trip.

Good luck with your decisions! :wizard:

We loved 'Ohana's breakfast. It was one of my favorite meals the whole week. If you are interested in reading the details on our thoughts, I have 'Ohana up in my report. Direct link to that part: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=39622025&postcount=18

But then again, we also didn't do multiple breakfasts. So I can't rate it compared to others.

2 years ago we did the Ohana breakfast with our 4 nieces and it was by far our favorite meal that trip. They just got back from WDW last month and did the Ohana dinner, they were really disappointed and wish they would have done the breakfast instead.

Love ohana for breakfast. The caracter interaction that we had there was the best that we got last fall. The girls still talk about it all the time.

BTW are you doing 1900 PF for dinner to see Cinderella and her step family and the Prince?
