Let's share our personal dining gems that might be overlooked by folks. It can be a counter service or table service place. Maybe something that surprised you how good it was or a place you go back to every single trip.

For me that gem is the Plaza in MK. We lucked into it one trip right as a thunderstorm was about to hit, we got this cute table right at the window and had such a pleasant meal during the storm. Now we make a point to eat lunch there every trip and it hasn't disappointed us yet.

I'd love to find a couple more of these overlooked spots. Thanks in advance for sharing. :)

OMG! I was going to say Plaza, and coincidentally it happened exactly the same way for us. Rainstorm, window table and all - no kidding. We're even from Michigan, too.

Several years ago, we took a chance on dinner at Olivia's (OKW) and were very pleasantly suprised. I believe the menu has changed since our visit there, so not sure about the current state of affairs.

:teeth: A little good karma for the Michiganders! And there usually are tons of us down there at the same time it seems.

The fountain at the Dolphin. It has similar (but more) offerings as B&C, but not as crowded. I like the BLT, a nice change. They also have this yummy sundae - apple pie sundae - there is an slice of pie, soft serve vanilla ice cream and caramel

We also really like The Plaza and Olivias.
We like to try new places every visit.
We liked The Grand Floridian Cafe too. I remember calling to make that ADR and the person saying that it was a hidden gem and glad I was trying it.
It was good and very quite.

We tried last year Maya Grill & Captians Grill. Both were very very good and worth the trip to these hotels.

We tried Tutto Italia in May for the first time and we really enjoyed it.
We have read that Biergarten is a gem...we intend on finding out in Sept. :goodvibes

Trail's End, if you like "corn bread and chili" type food - it's inexpensive for an "all you can eat" buffet and the people are so friendly and pleasant.

We ate at The Mara at AKL on our trip in May and were pleasantly surprised - some different food choices and everything was good.

The Turf Club at SSR was definately our hidden gem last trip. Wonderful food, great service everything was excellent.:cloud9:

We are dining there again in August.:thumbsup2

Yep, the gang has already mentioned mine:

Grand Floridian Cafe, stopped there for lunch on our 'out of park/shopping day' after getting caught in a rainstorm. We'll be back there in Sept for a ladies lunch. :thumbsup2

Turf Club, we had plans for a 2TS dinner and one of our group got sick. Since we were staying at SSR, we just popped in and had a great dinner.

Trails End....fried chicken...no need to say more. We'll be doing their chicken dinner carry out for one night in the villa. :thumbsup2

I absolutely agree with The Plaza! And I'm from Michigan too!

Another one is Citricos. There is practically always a reservation available and the food is SO GOOD :thumbsup2 While other signature restaurants like Narcoossees and California Grill are booked for months, Citricos beats them in terms of food quality :worship:

Kona was our hidden gem this trip. We ordered steak and kona cones. They were wonderful as was the service.

Last trip WPE was our hidden gem and it has now become our every trip restaurant. We have been there many times and still haven't found anything we dislike.

The Plaza and the Grand Floridian Cafe, wound up eating at both of them by chance and had great meals.

Grand Floridian Cafe - lovely, quiet breakfast spot
Citricos - incredible food and service, although not quite as "hidden" as it used to be
Bistro Paris - this may be the only other restaurant at WDW besides V&A where two adults can expect to have a quiet, truly relaxed, romantic evening (if they should so choose)
Columbia Harbor House - a nice change from the usual theme park burgers and dogs ... love their tuna sandwich!
Kimonos and / or Wolfgang Puck for sushi - AMAZING!

Oh, visiting Citrico's and Columbia Harbor House are both on my list for this September....can't wait to try them. (That tuna sandwich has been calling my name for months :lmao:ever since I saw a picture on the food porn thread!)

Come see us on the new friendie thread when you have time ... we're going strong! :thumbsup2

Grand Floridian - Stopped last year for breakfast after missing our dinner reservations the night before and absolutely loved it. Will be back for another breakfast before we head for the airport and we are going to try dinner too.
