Are there any locations where you can actually eat and watch the show? I know I purchased a package several years ago where I got to sit in a balcony and eat a meal while I watched the parade in California Adventure...

Not really. I've heard though if you are at the Cover Bar during the show, you can sort of see it from a bad angle. There is a cover charge during WoC if you want to try this.

That would be at Wine Country Trattoria and you cannot see WOC from there. As Lurker said, there really aren't any place to watch WOC like that.

Someone just gave me a good tip that you can watch the Pixar Play Parade as you eat your WOC lunch or dinner at the Wine Country. BRILLIANT! So I made reservations this morning so I can do this. I hope it works out like I plan. :thumbsup2 But if you wanted to sit on a balcony and watch the WOC show, nope its not doable. There is no viewing dining area for the WOC except for at Ariels where you get a bad angle of the show. There is a $10.00 per person charge to sit at Ariesl and watch the WOC.

What time did you reserve lunch to see the Pixar parade simultaneously? That's a great idea!

I tried to find this on hydroguys thread but couldnt...can you still do Ariels Grotto? Also, Carthay is part of it too now right? Anywhere else???

WOC dining packages are only available at WCT and CCR now. AG no longer offers WOC packages but has a character dinner instead.

Have fun planning!

Don't forget the picnic packs that, while they are not the same type of priority seating (from what I understand) as the other WOC packages, they do still give you a priority spot. (right?)

:thumbsup2 I know right? That's a brilliant idea! I never even thought about doing that. Basically you have to find out what the Pixar Play parade starts, and also when the meal times are for the WOC to find out if you want to see the first or second showing. The lunch option is $10 cheaper and it is also a different menu then the dinner. I will give you an example as this is what I did for myself. I found that the Pixar Play Parade is playing twice a day, 2:00 & 5:00. Then I decided that I wanted to see the 1st showing of the WOC and pay less then the dinner package based on the following show times.

LUNCH:
1. Eat between 11:30-2:30 and you will see the first show
2. Eat between 2:40-3:30 and you will see the second show

DINNER:
1: Eat between 4:00-7:00 you will see the first show
2: Eat between 7:05-8:30 you will see the second show

When I called to make reservations for the Wine Country's WOC they gave me time options and I chose 1:30 so I can catch the 2:00 Pixar Play Parade. But then that means I have to see the 1st showing of the WOC. However my other option would have been to make a dinner reservation for the WOC and try and catch the 5:00 Pixar Play Parade. I wanted to give myself a good half hour before the parade to have ample time to get to the WCT. I'm not keen on walking through parade routes.

yeah i thought as much but I saw it still posted on HG thread so I thought maybe they brought it back or something....but Ariels has been doing character dining since inception

We ate at Carthay Circle yesterday at around 12:30pm. We were a walk-in and were sat outside on the balcony. Just as we were finishing our lunch, the Pixar Parade serendipitously started. The balcony was directly above the parade route, so it was the perfect spot to watch. The only complaint I had about the lunch was that there was very little shade on the balcony area, so I was siting directly in the (hot) sun the entire time. But we also saw people coming onto the balcony who were eating inside, so it sounds like you can make an afternoon reservation for inside, then simply step onto the balcony when the parade starts. Also, because each of us ordered an appetizer with our entree, we got Carthay Circle WOC seating.

gygp, where did you stand to view WOC with your CC passes? Seems everyone is getting different spots, so curious to hear where you stood yesterday?

And what time did you make your way to the viewing area. Keeping a 6 year old corralled for more than an hour sounds like a challenge!

Yes, I would also like to know when you made your way over...and where you got to view from.:)

Not really. Just a FP like you can get for free at the FP machines.

Really? I was under the impression that they had a special viewing area? Not true?

Hmmm. Which restaurant do you recommend? Need something 6-year old appropriate. Lol
