Dining for children under age 3?

I need someone to clarify dining info for me... DH and I are taking our 2 y/o twins to DW in FEB. We purchased the dining plan, but they apparently don't charge for children under age 3. Does this mean I'll have to feed both children off our plates? I'm wondering if I'll have to purchase a child's meal for them to split at mealtimes or would they allow me a free side dish for each to supplement what they get off my plate? Or do they get a free child's meal to split? :confused3

At restuarants where you order off a menu they will either eat off your plate or your will need to pay for a kids meal.

At buffets and all you can eat venues, they will eat free.

They will eat for free at the buffets and other all you can eat restaurants. Otherwise you would have to buy a meal for them if you don't plan on feeding from your meals.

I'm thinking feeding them from our plates for the table service meals/buffets won't be a big deal. I'm thinking counter service meals I will most likely have to buy a meal for them to split since that's usually burger or sandwich and fries, right? Does anyone know if most of the counter service places take Disney Rewards Dollars? Thanks for your help!

I think you might want to take a look at how MUCH food two counter service meals are before you buy them a separate kids meal. Unless your kids eat a TON, there will likely be enough for you all to share, especially since you get a combo plus dessert.

If you haven't already, you might want to look for my dining reviews. We did the exact same thing you are planning with our 22 month old boys.

Also, for the record, you don't have to literally feed them FROM your plate. If you ask, they will bring you an extra plate and silverware for the kids.

Thanks for the info...I found your dining reviews & will keep that info in mind when we go---nice of you to take the time to post that for the rest of us. I know I could share MY plate with one child, but DH eats like "there is no tomorrow", so I don't know if he'll be too excited about sharing his. Oh, and LOL...I did hope they would give us the extra plates and silverware & not make the boys literally eat off our plates! :teeth:

We had PLENTY of food. Plenty! A few of our TS meals were buffet/all you care to eat, but even at the other TS and all the CS, there was PLENTY to eat!

There were several threads a few months ago where parents were claiming that dining CM's told them if they used an extra plate to share their food with their child, they would be charged. Everyone was planning what sorts of disposable plates they needed to bring with them or complaining that they didn't want to LITERALLY share their plate with a toddler ;-)
