Dining for 9 at Teppan Edo

Looking to book a reservation for 9 people (6 adults & 3 children under 10). The site says that they can accommodate 8 at a table. Any chance they would allow 9 or would we have to split tables?

We were a group of 4 and were paired with a group of 5 that included 2 young children so make the reservations separate if you have to, go early and request to be seated together. I’m not promising they’ll cram you all in but it’s worth asking if it’s what you want.

Fwiw, it didn’t look comfortable with that extra chair squeezed in. They did not crowd us, Teppan Edo set it up so the family had to get the extra person in their area. (Do be certain any kids old enough for a chair are responsible enough to stay in it or seated between adult who can pin them in. One of the boys in the oversized party we were paired with was old enough for a chair but had no ability to stay in it, they stuck him on the end! It was straight up dangerous as he kept making dashes away from the table into the center and his parents were always too late to grab him 🙄)

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like they did seat your area with 9 chairs, but it may be a little tight. The three children are basically 10, 8, and 6 so at least two of them are good with staying seated. "Food" for thought though.

We just ate there in December. Our table had 9 adults and it was fine. 2 on each end and 5 in the middle.
Thank you. Are you willing to give an opinion? I am getting very mixed reviews, but sometimes I think guests expect too much from the "kitchen" when at Disney properties.

It's my 70th birthday celebration and my daughter wants to take me either there or the Hoop dee do review.

I’ll admit I haven’t been to Teppan Edo for many years, but I just have to say that Hoop Dee Doo Revue is where I’d want to celebrate a milestone birthday with my family. It is so much fun, and they’ll recognize your birthday (if you want them to).

We like Teppan Edo a lot. The food is really good and the chefs are entertaining. You do get a lot of food. The entree comes with a small salad and rice. In addition to all the veggies and your protein. I like the steak and shrimp combo.

I'd do the HDD, no question. It's a great show, all you care to eat - including limited types of alcohol, and delicious strawberry short cake. Teppan Edo is okay, but you can go to a restaurant like it most anywhere. I've been twice, once the chef was great (first time), second, he was fine, but not nearly as entertaining as the first one. Food was good, but nothing special. The HDD is a unique show, it's been at WDW since just about the beginning (if not the beginning) and very entertaining. Teppan Edo may seem less expensive but when you figure in the cost of beverages (not even alcoholic ones) and a dessert, it's pretty close - and HDD might even be less if you or anyone has a beer or sangria - or more than one. HDD would be my choice. And happy 70th birthday!
