Dining Experiances

I am looking for one interesting entertaining dinning experiance while on vacation. Does anyone have some suggestions? I was looking at the Medeval thing the Pirates one and the Arabian horse show but also open to WDW resorts, DTD, etc. Anything that doesnt need a theme park ticket to get to it and has good food and is entertaining for the kids. (also prefer some normal American food options like grilled Chicken or Steaks for my picker eater of the family, DH)
I asked this over on the Disney dining board but only got a couple vague responses. I was hopeing some locals might be able to highlights some places for me.

i have done the medieval times adventure twice.

i took my sons to it and we enjoyed it.

the food is basic, you get a couple of choices.

the show is entertaining for a family. you can get discount coupons for that show so don't go and pay full price. they also have the "village" for a fee you can check out. we thought it was worth it.


they do not give you table ware as you are to eat with your hands. we insisted and they did give us plastic ware.


do you know the story line to it?


Arabian Nights is another good show.
if you are into horses, you will enjoy this one.


some prefer this show and food over MT.
i liked MT better.


Pirates i have not been to but have heard what others have said in their trip reports.

the capone dinner show is okay and it is cheaper than the others.
it wasn't that bad, it was fine for an evening.


when we stayed at disney as a family, we always went off site for entertainment on a saturday afternoon and evening. we found the parks too crowded for our liking. Thus the reason we did the dinner shows off site.


at disney you can take in the Hoop De Doo dinner show at ft wilderness. i have done this one twice. it is a musical, talk type of entertainment.
the entertainers are on stage and the guests sit at tables. food is brought in family style. basic menu of fried chicken and fixings. menu is on allears.net site.


Kona Cafe and O'hana is at the Polyanesian resort at disney.
Ohana is family style setting. everything brought in on a platter or serving dish. kona is menu based.


the restaurants at WL are okay. menu based.
i found the Whispering Canyon too loud for me but it is family entertainment with the wait staff.


Chef Mickey is at the Contemporary resort and is a buffet setting with characters. i have been there but not as interested in the food the last time i was there.


at the disney resorts, you will find restaurants for table service.
you do not need park tickets to dine there.


some of the resorts has great food selections and some do not appeal to me. it's all a personal choice on what you like to eat, and if the ambiance is a big thing for you.


Downtown Disney has some places with great food and some places that are average.
Wolfgang Puck Express is really good and not expensive.
don't confuse it with the regular wolfgang puck.



Earls of Sandwich has great, fantastic sandwiches. they also have good sides. you order in a line then have a pick up when your number is called.
you seat yourself inside the place or take your food outside to eat.
the place is cheap for disney foods.


i have eaten at a few other ts places in dtd and some were fine.
check out the places on the website to check the menus to see if you can find things for the entire family.



City Walk has many places to eat at.

i really like City Walk restaurants.
if you were planning to go offsite to dine, i am assuming you have a car.
if that is the case, the drive to City Walk is not that far from disney.

the parking for the city walk garage is $3.

Where is the best place to find reduced tickets to Medieval times? I was looking at undercover tourist and an adult is $41.95 and children are $32.95. Are those good prices? We have 4 adults and 3 children.
