Um, how miserable are the new DVC dining discounts! I was not planning on getting Tables in Wonderland or anything, because I figured we'd get a slight discount--now there are way fewer restaurants and black out dates including the more obscure holidays, like Valentine's Day.

Now I am wondering if I should look into TIW-- we are not huge dining spenders but do have 3 trips planned in the next yr.

I swear I am not just complaining--I have a question--Do the TIW discounts apply to character meals? I project we'll be spending about $500 this trip alone so I can imagine it would break even.

Yes…we used it last year at the Crystal Palace for dinner….

Has anyone ever had an issue having just one TIW for the family? I note that you need to purchase an additional one for your spouse if you both want to be able to use it. Also, how do these work with MB charging, or do they just not?

The name of the purchaser will be printed on the back of the TiW card and that individual must show a photo ID and pay the check in order to receive the TiW discount.

To receive any applicable discount, you must show proof of discount (AP, DVC Member ID, TiW card, etc.) and a photo id.

We are just a family of 3 and are always together for meals so never needed more than one card.

I'm assuming paying with a magic band will count?
On our trip last fall we paid with the band but we still had to show the TIW card. TIW is good for the card holder plus up to 9 additional guests on the same check. The reason they offer the spouse card is in case you and your spouse will be dining separately.

OP you have to run the numbers yourself, but with three trips in one year, I would imagine you'd save some real money with TiW. We swear by it, mainly because it gives more flexibility than the dining plans or other food discounts.

:thumbsup2Have to agree - having compared actual expenditures for 2 adults on 2 separate 8 day vacations to cost of DDP, we were ahead without it, I'm sure TiW helped that
