Ok I have a little bit of a dilema here, I currently have ADR's for Tony's Town Square at 8PM on a MNSSHP night. I have never eaten there and the reviews for the most part have been fairly mixed. On the other hand I could get an ADR for the Grand Floridian Cafe for 5PM which would be before MNSSHP thus I wouldn't have to miss time during the party while dining. What would you do if you were in my situation, would you keep Tony's or cancel Tony's and make an ADR for the Grand Floridian Cafe?:confused3

I would pick Grand Floridian for two reasons: better food and so you won't miss out on MNSSHP.

I would choose Tony's for the food, location, and theme and the GF Cafe for the time only. :upsidedow

i would pick gf cafe. first for time and second for food. We have had lunch and dinner there and both were good (not great but good). I haven't eaten at tony's but it seems to get mostly bad reviews.

Wow, there must have been a different Chef at Tony's the night we ate there because it was the worst meal I have had at WDW. We also found the wait long to get seated so we were in the restaurant over two hours. So I can honestly say don't eat there if you want to enjoy MNSSHP!

Wow, I certainly wouldn't want to waste all that time if that's certainly the case. I'm thinking more and more to leaning towards GF Cafe and not taking that chance of losing so much time.

We ate dinner at Tony's last week. I had read all the reviews and wasn't sure about it either. However I decided to go because of it's location in MK. We only waited about 10 mins to be seated and we had an excellent meal. I think what ever you decide you will enjoy being at WDW. If you do pick Tony's you must try the Ice Cream Bomb for dessert. It's the best!! Enjoy and good luck.

Well I think I'm gonna keep my Tony's ADR but I also made a lunch ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern for 2:45PM. Not sure which one we are gonna want to do. I would just hate taking a risk on waiting a long period of time for a table since Tony's is indeed booked solid that night! Not sure it's worth risking missing out on a lot of the party. Going to lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern would allow us to be able to grab a CS meal later that night and not have to worry about wasting a lot of time. I really wanted to try Tony's but not sure it's worth my time. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Nope, you hit it right on the head. Op, avoid Tony's at all cost. Think Chef boyardee's spaghettio's served cold.

Seriously, it was inedible and I have teenage sons who are football players, they pretty much will eat any thing that is standing still with a little ketchup and even they said it was bad

1. I wouldn't waste at least 2 hours of time at a hard ticket special event going to a restaurant that is open all the time.

2. You can get into the Halloween Party at 4pm

3. I would just do a counter-service that night, use the time for the special events at the party (I went last year, believe me, everything is unique and super fun), and snack on candy and other treats. They give out pretty good candy.

4. I ate at Tony's a couple years ago. The calzones were fine.
I just really think it's a time waste when there are so many other food options in the park and things to do at that time. go to Tony's for lunch if you want to try it.

All valid points, we're gonna be in the park before the party starts as we arrive that morning and plan on checking into our hotel and then hitting the park and be in the park by 1PM that afternoon. I checked for reservations for lunch at Tony's but they're all booked up that day. I went with Liberty Tree Tavern for a late lunch reservation. That way we don't have to get anything until late that night. So that's gonna be my plan, and hopefully it works out for the best! Was looking foward to Tony's but I think I'll be happy be LTT and their Toffee Cake:woohoo:

I think you will be happy too!

oh, and don't miss the 'grave diggers' during the parade!

are those the guys that are dressed like the cm at the haunted mansion and carry the shovels???

i also want a good place for the parade so i can get a picture of the headless horsemen, what is the best place for that?

yes, that's them..I'm not a parade person, but that was a lovely parade and I really enjoyed it.

I'm short, so I rarely get to really see parades. The crowds are limited enough at this event that I had a view the entire time.
The horseman goes the entire route of the parade a few minutes before. Just be watching for him 10 min before and you will catch him.

I would definitely pick the GFC. Better time, you don't waste time at the party...and the food is much better!

While I like Tonys (head over heels for the calamari) I would rather eat before the party at GFC, which is also excellent!

I think you made a good choice to do LTT in the afternoon - do know that MK before 4 will (in our case at least! *g) will be very low crowds, at 4 the crowds pick up - if you have a "costume" or a special Halloween shirt - we brought ours to MK and stored them in the locker!

ITA with others negative experience at Tony's - hopefully they will improve soon - but our experience was over a year ago!

and there is snacks to be had at MK Mainstreet Bakery - food at Peco's Bills and Tomorrowland!! :cool1:

Not sure about "the best place" to get a pic of the Headless Horseman (maybe search these forums?) but keep in mind if the weather is wet, no Headless Horseman  Also search yourtube for uploaded videos of the Hallowishes and the parade -

We ate lunch at both GF Cafe and Tonys. Tonys was 10 times better.
