We did for some meals. We just told the waiter when we were ordering how we wanted to use credits/pay out of pocket and they were just fine with it. We shared meals or payed out of pocket at pretty much every meal we had and never had a problem at all. Most of the waitstaff agreed with what we were doing when they found out the twins were 10 and had to pay adult prices for their credits.

Yup! We did it too...no problems. But, like golfgal said, be sure to tell the waitstaff ahead of time so they can split up the bill. The cash dinner will have a seperate receipt/bill than the dining plan receipt/bill. Our experience was that if we communicated our plan ahead of time with the waiter/waitress, everything went smoothly, and we saved a bunch of $$. Have fun!!

We did at every meal, and it worked out great. All the servers had no problems with it. Only one time at Donald's Breakfast did our waitress not understand what I wanted to do. I explained it again and she was fine with it. She asked "Do you not have enough credits to put it all on?" I said yes, but I wanted to pay cash for the kids. She was fine with that. Just beware--I planned so many table service meals and character meals that I had trouble using up some of the counter meals. We had to skip a PS at Concourse Steak the last day because I didn't want to waste a Counter meal. Such a problem--too much food!! :earseek: :earseek:

Thanks for posting. I plan to do this also in September. We are going with a big group and some will have the dining package and some will not, so we will have to try to keep our servers informed. Sounds like a little more work, but overall, it's worth it!

Medfamily, are your kids under 10? I have a DD10 and a DS6 and I was planning on paying out of pocket for him since my DD wants to order from the adult menu at several restaurants. I would then use my DS's credits for an adult meal another time. Is this what you did? Imagine having too much food! :teeth: I hope I'm so lucky...
