Dining CM Quote of the Day

I just called to make my ADRs for late August and the CM was so shocked to see how many reservations there were already. I said, "I guess that is because of the freed dining."

She responded, "There's no free dining this year. They told me they weren't having that." I explained that it was released to Disney Visa card holders today.

She said, "I'm disappointed that they're having that again. It just makes our job so hard."

That cracks me up! I am teacher. Imagine me saying, "I'm disappointed they are having school start again. Having students makes my job hard."

I know that CMs have their busy times and their slow times and that the busy times must be more stressful, but it seemed like a very strange thing to say to a customer. I must add that every other interaction I have ever had with a dining CM, in the 10 trips I've taken to WDW, has been very pleasnat and professional. I am sure that this CM's feelings do not reflect all CMs' feelings.

Anyone have other funny CM quotes to share?

I booked all of our ADR's really early, but have made some travel plans and have changed some times/places, etc. The last time I called, the CM said, "Wow, you've got a lot of stuff scheduled. Are you just coming to eat?"

We have one TS per day scheduled for most days, and a breakfast and dinner scheduled for a couple of days. I wasn't offended b/c it would really take more than that, but I did think it was rather innappropriate.

And they will all be crying the blues when this goes automated and you can just book on-line like the airlines do now.

My best one is...

After I booked the kids club for like 3 nights....

"Are you ever gonna see your kid":lmao:

Some people seem to lack a filter between their brain and their mouth.

I'm a little worried that the phone answering CMs don't know about the Visa promotion. A breakdown in communcation, eh?

That would be wonderfull  Except for staying up until midnight (I guess) on the day of my 180 mark for ressies

online adrs sound like a great idea and seems to be where things are heading.

Wouldn't automated ressies be a blessing !!!!!!!!!!!! No more being put on hold forever while waiting for a human to help you LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The online problem I see with online ADR's is that the website being overloaded, or experience difficulties and blah blah blah. That would make it unfair for some who were waiting for their day and then have it messed up. Ya know? Eh, I don't know! ;)

As with everything they wopuld still need to man the phonelines but they could do it with a lot less if even just 40 to 50% use the on-line.

Just like CRO they can't totally get rid of it.

I had a teacher once tell me school wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the kids. :lmao: Same thing I guess.
I imagine the CM just meant it would be hectic, and maybe later with people calling for last minute ADRs and being hard to find by then.
However, not a positive thing to say to any guest. It's called job security. popcorn::

I talked to a CM last time about putting this system online as it would be easier, but she replied to me that the worry is people over booking their ADR's. For example, they book two to four ADR's for the same night different times to cover the bases of which park they might be in or what time they are wanting to eat. I'm sure they can put something in place to prevent this, but if this where to happen it would be impossible to get a reservation anywhere, but a lot of last minute cancellations with empty resturants.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Yep, and my vacation would be much more enjoyable if there weren't so many other pesky guests standing in lines ahead of me. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

But, seriously, like our CM said after booking 15 TS ressies for us during the 2 weeks we'll be there, "it's what she gets paid to do. If it weren't for doing that she'd be doing something else." I really liked her! :rotfl: :rotfl:
