Hi!

I am a single mom taking my daughter to Disney in December. She is 6 going on 16. She already told me she is no longer into the princesses. :sad2: We are doing the basic dining plan. I am happy with all of our reservations except one. Here is what we have planned:

1900 Park Faire Dinner
Boma Dinner
Crystal Palace Dinner (Mickey Christmas Party Night)
Restaurant Marakesh
Mama Melrose (Fantasmic Package)
Chef Mickey Breakfast
Sci-Fi Dinner
O'hanna Dinner

The reservation that I am thinking about changing is Chef Mickey's. I have been seeing some bad reviews lately of Chef Mickey's. Plus, I really like the convenience of eating in a restaurant in the parks instead of hopping on a bus or monarail. I have a friend that loves Chef Mickey's, but I am really second guesing this choice. I know in the giant scheme of things we are going to have a wonderful time no matter what, but I need some input from some of you. Thanks!!! o

hey - your choices look pretty good! how about Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom - character breakfast that puts you right in the park! great reviews and perhaps a little "different" for your sophisticated daugher :)

good luck!

You have some great choices there. I have to say, we were not into chef mickeys. We did lots of character meals there during our 21 night stay a few months ago and chef mickeys was our least favourite character meal (and meal full stop, the food was nothing special) (sorry to the fans ). I see that you have Ohana's for dinner (which we didn't do) but we did do Ohana's for breakfast (Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto) and it was FANTASTIC. One of our favourite character meals of them all (followed closely by breakfast at Cape Mays and then Donalds breakfast at tusker house).

If you were looking for another dinner (in the parks), Yak and Yeti (restaurant) at Animal Kingdom was probably the best meal we had our whole stay (followed closely by our meal at Jiko), but the food was absolutely delicious and was so good we ended up booking again whilst there and went a second time.

Is it possible to leave a meal spare, is there any chance that once there, amongst the magic, that your daughter may not be quite so over the princesses? My son(8) DID NOT, under any circumstances want to have autograph books this time. "No, I'm too big for those, they are for the younger kids". Well I asked again when we arrived and were at the resort gift shop, if he wanted an autograph book and big pen, "NO MOM, I've told you that already" so...... on the second day there, at magic kingdom I received a little, "um do you think it would be ok to get an autograph book" :rotfl: and he ended up filling two :lmao: . So after being "to big" ;) now for a few disney things, once there amongst the magic, those feeling changed.

Anyway you already have a great list of restaurants. Enjoy your trip :goodvibes
