Who: Kenneth, Buddy (17 yo.), Kenny (12 yo.), Molly, & me
When: Mon. July, 12th
Where: RPR, US, IOA, Pastamore, The Kitchen, & Pat O'Brien's
DH & I got going earlier this morning, so we could get to Pastamore while they were still serving breakfast. We got food to take back to the room. This would be our breakfast for the remainder of our trip.
What we ordered:
Breakfast Pizza w/ sausage & bacon (8 slices @ $3.29) $26.32
This was 2 whole pizzas.
Choc. Croissants (6 @ $1.99) $11.94
Cheese Croissants (2 @ $1.99) $3.98
Side of bacon (2 slices ea.) (2 @ $1.99) $3.98
Side of sausage (2 links ea.) (2 @ $1.99) $3.98
Sub total: $50.20
Tax: $3.27
Total: $53.47 Paid w/ $50 Clr. Chnl. GC & $3.47 cash
The pizza was very good, & the slices were huge. The croissants were good. Not the best I've had, but still good. We liked the cheese croissants a little better than the choc. I wished we would have gotten more of those. Molly ate up all the bacon and sausage. We put the pizza & meats in the cooler & heated them in the microwave ea. morning for breakfast. Quick & cheap!
Back to get the boys & off to US. 1st to the Mummy once again. This time I opened my eyes and it wasn't half as scary. Guess my imagination runs wilder than that of the Universal Attraction Designers.
There was a man behind us who tried very hard to fit in the seats, but ending up having to get off. This man wasn't huge either. I think they just goofed & designed the seats too small. Witnessing this upset all of us, especially my nephew. If it bummed us out, imagine how it made that man feel.
From there we went to MIB. I decided to sit this one out, and was glad that I did. The guys had a very long wait for Express, at least 30 min. or more. Between the 2 experiences, mostly the 1st one, noone was in the mood to ride anything else. We decided to walk to The Kitchen and have a sit-down lunch. Big mistake!!! We were in there at least 1 1/2 hrs. The service was by far the worst we had the whole trip. One guy was waiting on at least 5 tables. 2 of them had large parties. Apparently, the kitchen was short handed also. We had to wait a long time for our food, and getting a drink refill was hopeless. On a positive note, we were offered a free dessert to make up for the wait. DH & Buddy just wanted to get out of there and turned down the dessert. Never refusing a freebie, I ordered a Cheesecake w/ a banana flavor & nut crust. I can't remember what it was called, but it's worth inquiring about. Kenny had Choc. Ice Cream.
What we ordered:
1) Fettucine Alfredo (It was good, but didn't come w/ bread.)
1) Fish & Chips (DH didn't think you got enough for your money.)
1) 3 Cheese Pizza w pepperoni (This was consistently good.)
1) Grouper Sandwich (Kenny liked it, but I thought that it was odd that the Grouper was very thick & only covered 1/2 the bun. I guess this is something you'd have to see to understand.)
4) Soft Drinks
Total w/o tip $63.20
Again we paid with a $50 Clr. Chnl. GC & $20 cash. We always give more than a 15% tip, but this guy didn't earn the tip he got.
After the boys went to see a movie, we all went to IOA. The guys rode The Hulk, and DD's. We all rode Spidey & The Cat in the Hat, & saw Poseidon. The boys wanted to go to another movie, so DH went to Pat O's & ordered dinner to go.
What we ordered:
2) Cheeseburgers (2 @ $7.95) $15.90 Forget the Hurricanes, the cheeseburgers alone are worth a trip to Pat O's.
1) Shrimp Po Boy $9.95 Kenny was a bit disappointed with this. He was expecting it to be as good as a Po Boy at Mama's Kitchen in New Orleans. To be fair to Pat O's, I should add that the Po Boy from Mama's Kit. was made from sliced meats not shrimp. I'm sure that made a big difference, although Kenny does love shrimp.
Sub Total: $25.95
Tax: $1.69
Total: $27.54 Paid w/ (1) $25 Clr. Chnl. GC & $2.54 cash + $5 tip. DH ordered a Skylab Specialty drink, to drink while he waited. The bartender comped it. Pat O's salvaged what was an otherwise not so great day.
