This place sounds really good, for some reason. I guess it's the price, that puts this place high on my list of restaurants.

How is this place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. What is the best time to eat there. Does anyone have any pictures.

Thanks

We did lunch there and we loved it! We took the boat over from MK and it was a lovely ride . It has a very country cozy feel, lots of red gingham and wood. I heard lunch is the best value (we paid around $9) and got a ton of yummy food. We also got to see an armadillo(sp?) outside of the place rooting around which really made our day, being from NY too we don't see many of those!

Enjoy!

we ate dinner there in december followed by a carriage ride. the food is very good. would definitely make the effort to get to fort wilderness to dine there again.:p

We ate their 2x last year and really liked it. It is very laid back and we just love the atmosphere there. It may not have as big a selection as some of the other buffets but the food was nice and fresh and the service excellent.

We ate breakfast there twice last Nov. The food was great and we chowed down to the point that we didn't eat again until 4 pm. We got there within a half-hour of opening and we'll follow this schedule when we do dinner next trip. This is the best food value in WDW.

Do they do PS for this restaurant? or can you just walk up - I'd like to do a ps if poss - I love to plan.

I was told that PS is not accepted here, but I didn't try on our last trip.

I love the casual, relaxing, homespun atmosphere of Trail's End. We have tried all the meals. We love the breakfast. My parents swear by the lunch. Dinner is great but you don't notice the price break as much as you do at the other meals.

We eat here at least once every trip.

We had always gone for lunch since it is cheaper. In December, we had Christmas Day lunch there is it was fantastic. So, in June we are going to have dinner there.

They do not have ribs at lunch.

Trail's End does not take PS's, but there usually isn't that long of a wait.

I agree with Bill from PA - breakfast is the best value in all of WDW. We have also eaten dinner there & enjoyed that. Not over priced at all.

We love everything about FW, including the meals in Pioneer Hall. You could also go over to Crockett's Tavern & order a pizza, which is pretty good.

I am just wondering if we wanted to do breakfast there from the Beach Club, could we eat and still be at MK by normal opening time? How would we get to Fort Wilderness from BC? Don't the busses only start running one hour before opening?

We ate at Trail's End last week. We didn't try to make PSs, but it was pretty empty anyway. Our server put on a no-nonesense act and was really funny. The food was GREAT. Real comfort food.

I would imagine that the busses would be your best bet. They should drop you right off at Pioneer Hall, which is right where Trail's End Buffet is. You can also get to FW via the boat from the MK if you wanted to do lunch or dinner.

It's a great place to eat. As the poster above said - real comfort food. I just love FW. :p

Kallison...I think it would be difficult to rely on WDW transportation to get you to Trail's End and back to MK before park opening. As you probably already know, there is not a bus that goes directly from BC to Ft. W. Even if you wanted to take a cab, you can only go to the front of Ft. W, where you must wait for a bus to take you to Pioneer Hall. Maybe an alternative is to find out how late Trail's End serves breakfast, go to the MK at opening for an hour or two, then take a boat lauch over to Ft. W and have a late breakfast.

BTW, Trail's End is one of my favorite places for a simple, good meal!:D

SHHHHHHHH! you're letting the secret out! LOL!

This place has been a favorite of our family for years and up to now, one of the best kept secrets for on-site dining. The best value of any sit down at WDW. We usually try to go for the latest possible lunch seating(3-4pm) and have an early dinner. $8.99 all-you-can-eat!! best fried chicken at WDW.

We just ate dinner there last Saturday for the first time. I wish we had tried it sooner. After staying at the Grand Floridian for a week and eating in those restaurants ($$$) it was a nice relaxing change of pace for us. Shrimp, chili, fried chicken, salads, mac and cheese, london broil, pizza, potatos....a little bit of everything. We took the ferry from GF to MK and then another to FW...that took about 40 minutes to do, but returning we took a bus from Pioneer Hall to the TCC and then the monorail to GF which took about 15 minutes. As nice as the GF is, FW is by far our favorite place to stay.
