Does anyone know if you can eat at the bar? We'd like to try their sushi and wanted to stop in one evening for sushi and drinks...

Thanks!

Yes you can, no ressie needed

Try the Yellowfin Tuna Three Ways mmm Mmm yummy

Tip--- at sunset they have the shades pulled down a bit but you can still get great photos of the Magic Kingdom outside

We eat at the CG bar all the time--a full meal in fact.

But a caution: as it nears fireworks time CG gets full. If you show up on the second floor w/o a reservation, there is that chance that they will NOT let you up. All the seats at the bar and the tiny lounge will be taken and there will simply be no room.

I just wanted to add, that one visit I was asked if I wanted to sit at the chef's Sushi counter in the main restaurant(which I didn't know existed). I was of course delighted. It was very entertaining. I was by myself...but I'm pretty sure there were 4 chairs total. The restaurant was full, but they never sat anyone else with me.

I think they also had a main course chef's table as well. I don't recall whether there was a dessert one.

It was really a counter...but very nice. I got fantastic service and they explained everything they did.

I could not have asked for a better dining experience!

So what is the best time to go? And can you only get sushi at the bar? How about drinks and dessert or drinks and an appetizer?

If you go at a time that will overlap with fireworks at MK, you might have some trouble getting up. Other than that, anytime is good! When you go to the 2nd floor floor to ask if you can go up, if yes, they elevator you up to 15th floor, and there you will probably have option of bar or lounge area. My suggestion is take what's open or closest to open. You can get up and gaze at the cool view any time. The smaller your group the easier this is.

We've (only 2 of us) always been able to order off full menu in the bar or lounge. Any or all, and the servers are great. Just let them know what you're planning and they're on it. We've done just apps, just dessert, just wine, etc.

Have a great trip!

maxmom: You can order anything at the bar--or just drinks.
Going close to when they open, or AFTER the fireworks (when the mob leaves) would be best if you don't have a reservation.

oops, meant to do multiple quotes, but thanks to all.

Thanks for all the very helpful responses! Its nice to know that we can enjoy some of that delicious sushi (and other dishes :-)) without trying to score such a coveted reservation!
