where would you recommend to eat at seaworld? there will be 8 of us 4 adults and 4 kids aged between 15 and 3?
thanks kellie:)

Only been to Seaworld once but we ate at the Sharks Underwater Grill which was excellent - looking forward to going there again next month :cool1:

We tried Smokey creek at Easter, they dont cook chicken enough for DW. They have signs up saying food is cooked but chicken will be pink in middle. I watched them cook it, no way was it long enough for her, she likes meat very well done and no colour. Ribs I had were not great either, maybe we hit a bad day with it being so busy but will not go back.
They did offer a picnic buffet which looked very good value at Easter, you signed up for it just inside the entrance. We decided to wait until our August trip to try it. Went back this month, they were not offering it. Maybe it will come back.

Must admit I like 'well done' too - it was fine when we went, but a bit rushed as Josh hates restaurants.
Hopefully it was a one-off Wayne.

Hi Johnny, hope you don't mind me asking but why do you have a problem getting Josh into any restaurant?

Funny, we ate there in May, food was cold, carpet was covered in food from [many] previous diners and although our server was charming and very communicative the service was slow (not his fault). For Seaworld's premier eating place, in our opinion it was poor - and it wasn't even particularly busy.

Hi

We've tried the picnic/ BBQ eat as much as you like in 2006 (can't remember the exact title - another grey moment :rotfl2: ) it was okay. There was a lot of food though my DDs picked at it. Everyone enjoyed the puddings.

This year we went to the Sharks grill - I wanted to have the experience. The food was okay - you gotta like fish to really enjoy this place. My DDs did try and experiment with food but not even the puds made them happy. It was really nice to sit and eat there. It was cold but enjoyable. The service was slow but we're not bothered about that. The food was okay - DH loved it - I was okay - DDs not so much.

It was expensive - well over $120 for three courses each. That might not sound too bad - but that was for 5 of us - considering 7 of us ate at the golden coral for less than $50 including a tip and we all found something nice - it might be a consideration to some.

Oh - NO!! I hope that was an off-day! It was early 2004 since I was there but I'll be disappointed if we get the same experience that you had.

We had vouchers to spend in Seaworld & ate 2 meals there but wasn't impressed with any of the food we had. Both were just counter service but well below the standard of Disney

Only very good meal I had in Seaworld was on the tour where you stroke a penguin(dont remember name of tour) at lunch time they took us next to Shamu pool for a cold buffet, the food was great.
Not a fan eating in Disney though either, prefer to get away from the parks to eat.

Hi - sorry only just seen this question so will send you a pm.

Basically the answer is yes, he is autistic and unable to talk, often things that are unfamiliar can be a problem and cause him to get upset.
Guess we should push him more I suppose - we rarely eat out at home so it's not surprising he is reluctant too whilst we are away.

Last year we didn't eat out once, tried to go in a few restaurants but Josh just didn't want to.

We are actually thinking of taking along his portable DVD player with us to the restaurant, although we will ensure we think it's one that is suitable, it's kind of a last resort I suppose but if he knows we have it with us he is certain to go in.

It's one thing that can affect the enjoyment of the holiday, hence our reluctance to keep trying - we will definitely do so next year though but like I say if taking the DVD player we will ensure it's somewhere we feel is suitable, possibly breakfast times would be our first attempt!

If you don't mind counter service we have eaten in the place where the free beer is!! Nice sandwiches served with colelsaw/potato salad if I remember & you can go & get a free Bud to drink!

Not bad:thumbsup2
