Dining at parks before park openings

I have an 8:05 AR for Crystal Palace in Sept. We will have our car to drive and we're staying at POR. Does the buses transport people to the early breakfasts or do we drive and then ride the monorail to get to the park?? Also, do we need anything special to get in the park, like ID's or just our reservation number???

There will be busses running that early. Be out at the bus stop 45 minutes before your PS.

You MAY need your reservation #. Generally, you wouldn't need your IDs, but with the bioscans, its good to have them.

are you sure the buses run that early?
when we were at WDW they didn't....we had to drive and take the monorail....they only let people with PSs on the monorail at that early hour...
It might be something that you want to check when you get to the resort...

There was a rumor that they were going to stop the early morning breakfast busses, but a couple weeks ago that was corrected also. There is bus service this early in the morning. The front desk CM's do not always give out the correct information, unfortunately, as well as some of the CM's if you call Disney Dining.

We used the busses almost every morning for a breakfast PS before park opening.

If MK opens at 9 that day, you won't be able to take the WL to MK boat and make your PS. Take the WL to CR boat. It starts about 7AM. Then walk to the MK from there.

Hi. DW and I have a PS for Crystal Palace at MK at 8:05 on 8/23. We're staying at AKL, so I'm guessing that we'd just get on the MK bus at about 7:00 to 7:15 and tell them that we have PS's for CP, and it won't be a problem?

We didn't even have to tell them that we had PS's- we just got on the early buses to get to the park we needed to get to for the early breakfast PS's. They didn't ask either--- anyone got on the bus that wanted to.

sorry I don't have the answer to that- in my experience even when we had an early (8:15am) breakfast PS- after waiting about 15min (or longer) to be seated- we had not finished eating, seeing all the characters, etc. in less than 30min to actually be out in the park before the 9am opening. You don't usually walk up and get seated immediately even with an early morning PS like that- atleast not in my expeirence. By the time you were seated you'd have to eat REALLY fast and not be there to see characters if you wanted to try to get into the park before they open for everyone.

we did this for the first time before the park opened just recently...we always have our car so we drive over....that day the monorail happened to be out of commission (well one) so we had to go backwards to get to MK....then once we arrived at MK there was a huge line of people waiting to get in - they all has early PS too!! I guess I was shocked! so my suggestion would be to leave earlier than you think you need to go!

You have to give yourself approx. 1 hour to eat, so by the time you're seated (which rarely happens at 8:15am), eat, get all the characters' autograph and pictures, it'll be past 9:00am anyway. You have to remember that the characters circulate the room, so you might get Piglet early on, but get Tigger way later.

But in the event you do get out of there before park opening time, you still can't ride the rides, but you can take great pictures of the castle without any people around, or walk around and position yourself for the rope drop to the first land you want to go.

When I was making a PS for the CP for Oct, the CM told me that the bus would start running at 8 a.m. (Our PS was for 8:05) so we changed it to 9. He double checked the bus schedule when I asked if the busses ran earlier and said, no, 8 a.m. was the earliest.

You asked about taking ID. I'm not sure about CP, but I know when I made CRT ressies they were very specific about having to show ID when we check in (I suppose to keep unscrupulous people from stealing ressies that don't belong to them?). Probably a good idea to take ID with you just in case.

Thanks OP for asking the question about transportation. We have ressies at CRT for 8:55 a.m. Does anyone know how early they will let us into the park? I would like to take some pics along main street w/o people there and soak in the atmosphere of an empty MK. Will they limit me to, say, 15 minutes before my ADR? or will I be able to get in as soon as they let in the earliest diners (around 8 a.m.?)

We are just back from our recent trip (6/23 - 7/2) and had 2 different ADRs before park opening (CRT and Breakfastosaurus). Buses were running without any problems for us (we stayed at AKL). There was a line at both places for park entrance for others with ADR's. We were let in the park in the order we arrived (not in any way related to the times of our ADR's). We were also seated in the order we checked in (again not the order of our ADR times). Obviously, we did needed a valid park ticket for the day (or KTTW pass/ticket). We gave our name and that was it. Neither place needed a confirmation number or identification. The areas of the park that were not yet opened were roped off to keep you on the path to the restaurant. When the park opens, the ropes are dropped. Even if you finish your meal before park opening (which as others mentioned, isn't a sure thing depending upon how quickly you are seated and meet the characters and such) the ropes are up but you can get great photos; and as a bonus you are already half-way into the park to be quickly at the attractions you'd like to try first.
