My family and I are staying off property the first week of May. Our first night we would like to go to Fort Wilderness and have P & J’s for fried chicken meal and perhaps stay to see the fireworks on the beach. With the Covid restrictions in place, would a mobile order be considered as a valid reservation?

I would be surprised if it was, to be honest, but it might be worth the try. It's all up to the security guard at the gate. If the answer was no, you could cancel the order without being charged.

FtW has always been very strict on parking but I think it's more than a "free parking" thing but also for security reasons (tent camping, campers, etc are different than hotel rooms IMO).

Your guaranteed access would be via boat but you'd have to pay parking at T&TC (if the attendants are still there) and travel to MK.

You could also park at Disney Springs and take a resort bus to Ft. Wilderness. It might be more trouble than you want to take, but it is an option.
