Dining at Disney Resorts when staying off-site

My DH and I will be staying at the Courtyard by Marriott DTD for 2 weeks in September and would like to have dinner at several restaurants in the WDW resorts (since we'll now have more money to splurge after the incredible $20.03 deal we took advantage of at the Courtyard!)

Will we run into problems since we are not staying on-site?

We will have a rental car, so I'm also wondering if we will be allowed to drive in and park at the resort for dinner.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

We have done this repeatedly when we rent a car. I say splurge and valet park if you can....it is usually pretty inexpensive ($5-$8). I have heard, though, that they may question you about your reservation and ask for your PS number at some resorts. This is due to so many people parking at a hotel and then going to the parks. If you are eating at one of the MK monorail resorts, it is fun to take the monorail or boats to the different resorts and have a drink or coffee and browse their shops, etc.

No, you won't run into any problems at all. Just tell the guard at the gate that you are dining at a resort and they will let you right in.

We usually stay offsite and like to eat at many of the resort restuarants. We keep a note of our reservation number and then if we are asked we can give this to the guard at the gate. We have never encountered any problems. As stated in an earliar post I would take advantage of the valet parking, it is very good especially when you have finished your meal and are absolutely stuffed, the last thing you want is a long walk to your car.
