I have booked our last night in Florida at the Poly seeing I have an annual pass and got a discounted rate. What I didn't do when making my ADRs was book a meal this night. So I thought I better look into it. I really don't want to have to go anywhere off the circit of the monorail.

Ideally at the Poly, as a table of 5 there is nothing, as a table of 6 I can get pretty much what I want at the Poly. Surely they would have to seat us at a table of 6 anyway. Odd odd odd.

Anyway I have booked a much too late dinner at Kona for us but it will be a back up and hopefully on the day I will be able to get something earlier to suit us better and cancel the later dinner or we will just make the later dinner.

This has been commented on plenty times. The ADR system is a bit strange to say the least. You are correct in pretty much all instances and yes, you would need to be seated at a table for 6, depending on the style/size/shape of the tables I suppose.

Book the table for 6 and when you get there, well .... someone couldn't make it.

Solo travellers have an awful time with this and many have got wise to putting in a table for 2 when a table for one is not available. I mean really?!?!? The only way to make a table for one that doesn't seat two is to push it against a wall and/or remove the second chair. Book it. I would.

I would book the table for six and tell them one person couldn't make it when you arrive for the adr. I have done this before myself, and didn't have any problem at the restaurants.

You can book for 6 and when you arrive at the restaurant let them know there are only 5 of you.

There is a quirk in the system that makes booking harder for an odd number of people. Most tables have an even number of seats and the system wants to maximize the number of people at the table so it is waiting for parties of 2,4,6, etc to book. Unfortunately that means parties of 1,3,5 have a much harder time.

On our last trip we were a party of 3 and only once were we seated at a 3 top (Boma next to a window). Everywhere else it was a 4 top table.

I'm going solo and have booked 4 ADRs for a table for 1 with no problem :)

Why not try something at the GF, narccosse if fab, and we have never had a bad meal at Citricos, you could Walk the meal off on the way back to the poly!

I managed 7 ADR's booking for one so I must be at least as special as Tim :woohoo:
