I know that if you have an ADR for a resort restaurant and are staying in another WDW resort you can park for free at the restaurant resort. Does anyone no the policy for leaving your car there while you go to the park? In other words, can I drive Grand Floridan for dinner at 1900 Park Fare and then take the monorail to MK for the evening?

Generally, the resort guard will give you a 3 hour parking pass for your legitimate business at the resort. You can valet park ($10+tip) at the resort and they will generally let you keep your car there as long as you like. So I would do that, or else just park at the TTC and use the monorail for dinner and the park.

Unless you use valet parking (like the pp mentioned ;)), you would not be able to keep your car at the GF while you went to MK. Anyone can visit any of the resorts and park free of charge (whether staying onsite or not), but generally you're given a 3 hour parking pass (some guards give them, some don't ). But technically, you've got 3 hours to eat, explore the resort, etc. if you're not staying there or not using valet. I've never witnessed this myself, but some people have posted that they've seen cars being towed from resort lots due to them not having a proper parking pass :confused3.

There are signs posted saying that you cannot park there for theme park access. It's frowned upon.

I wouldn't park at the GF anyway. The self-park lot is not convenient. I'd park at the TTC to start with and then monorail to the GF to eat.

No, you may not park at GF and then go to MK, unless you use valet parking. The self-parking lot is quite a distance from the resort, so you may not save any steps by parking there.

If you don't want to use valet parking, park at the TTC, then take the resort monorail to GF.

They only give you a 3hr parking pass.

I too rec. parking at TTC. The selfparking at GF is really far from the resort and quite a walk. OF all the resorts, their parking is the least convenient (IMHO). In the past, when we've been running a little late, we've done valet just because the self-parking is such a hike.

If it is a heavy time of year and you are not listed as having a reservation at the restaurant of the hotel, you might also be turned away. My mother and I were turned away from parking at the BCV (our home resort). They said the parking was extremely full and since we did not have a reservation for dinner, we would not be permitted to park, even with our valid DVC card. This applied for both self-park and valet.

This was during super soap weekend, which also overlapped with Jersey week and Food and Wine Festival, so it was a crowded time.
