Easiest DVC Studios to Book at 7 Months for December

I'm considering going to Disney World in the first half of December next year, and was which are the easiest DVC deluxe studios to book at 7 months (I own at OKW and SSR, and would like know how easy it would be to book a DVC stay outside of my home resorts). Any advice would be appreciated

Unfortunately, you’re going at a very popular time, are wanting to stay in the cheapest accommodation and you own at the two likeliest resorts to have availability at the seventh month mark.

Given the large amount of studios I would’ve thought the poly longhouses would have worked, but according to the availability charts at DVChelp.com it is slim pickings during that time as well.

As above, the 2 easiest to book will be your home resorts. You will be very unlikely to find consecutive days at any other resort at the 7 month mark.

If I were you, I would book your home at 11 months, possibly in separate reservations depending on how long you plan to stay, and then stalk like crazy at the 7 month mark. Poly longhouses do pop up, but it will likely be 1 or 2 night blocks at a time.

You may be able to swap to a AKV savanna view studio as well in addition to Poly but again you'd have to book it 1-2 nights at a time, they're not going to be readily available at 7 months.

You already own them: SSR and OKW

Past that, and as mentioned above, maybe: AKV

December is just a very difficult time to book DVC rooms due to the high demand.

I’d book your home resort and set up a waitlist for any other resort you’d like to try

First week of Dec is the highest DVC room demand week of the year at WDW, second week is third highest (Christmas week is second). Trying to get anything at all 7-months out can be a challenge. Many rooms that are open well beyond the 11-month period in the summer can book full right at 11-months out during those December weeks. Best chances are SSR and OKW but even those can have rooms disappear for some of the days in the week by 7-months out. Outside chance for Kidani savanna view.

Some years a new DVC resort or new addition to an existing DVC Resort can be open as a result of DVD dedicating new rooms to the resort beginning for that time of year Since you own SSR and OKW, consider it a necessity that you book one of them at 11-months out if you actually need a room for that time of year, and then just see if you can switch at 7-months out.

I tried to book for a friend a night or two when I’m going. So far only SSR and OKW have turned up for them. I was happy to get SSR. I’m at BWV, and that’s never been available, I keep checking, and have a one day waitlist.

Book your home resorts in one-night blocks, so that you can replace with nights at the other resorts. Stalk like crazy and setup wait lists. If you have 2 different memberships, you can use 4 waitlist requests. Check the site multiple times per day, you never know what will show up.

Saturdays have been the best for me in terms of seeing people make changes and so new options open up.
