Hi again , mom had more questions for me


1.Good tours on both 7 days

2.Dining rotation for 2 adults with no kids

3.Palo?

4.Good gorcery store to buy drinks

5.How much clothing to bring

1. That depends on your interests and the ages/mobility of those in your party. Do you want beaches/watersports or culture/history or golf/horseback riding or something else?

2. Just let them know to request late seating with no children under 16 at the table, and they will do their best to accomodate. Last year I requested late seating with no children under 13 and got exactly that

3. They should make the reservations as soon as possible upon boarding. Don't miss afternoon tea and brunch--the brunch was the best meal we had on the ship! It's adults over 18 only in Palo at all times.

4. Can't help there, sorry.

5. Not as much as you'll think you need! I'd suggest two bathing suits and a coverup, three pair of shorts and a top for each day, two pair of slacks/skirts and a few matching tops for dinner, appropriate formalwear for formal and semi formal nights (and dinner at Palo), workout gear if you'll be so inclined, comfortable walking shoes for excursions, your camera, toiletries, and binoculars if you have them, and a good book!

Ducklite, that is probably the most helpful, clear concise summary of what to pack I've ever seen. I may borrow it for future use(like when I'm packing next week).

I didn't know you could make a request such as this! We have requested late seating, and I don't mean to insult anyone with young children (hey, I had young children at one time ), but I really would prefer to make sure that we're not seated with children under about age 10-12. My DSs will be 16 and 13 when we cruise and are very well behaved. Do they really honor these kinds of requests??

Thanks! I did forget a couple really important things--pj's, a hat, sunglasses and sunblock.

I think they try their hardest to! I had requested no children under 13. We were seated with a couple and their 13 (almost14) yo daughter.

I just didn't want to end up sitting with younger kids, it changes the entire scope of conversation, the pace of the meal, everything! I was looking for stimulating "adult" conversation, hopefully with people who had something in common with us, as opposed to a younger couple with little ones. I didn't want to be in a position where the mother would be in the middle of telling a funny story and have to leave to attend to the little one's "potty" needs, or speak to them about not stuffing their cocktail fork in their ear. (Please no offense to parents of little ones, I was there once, but am now at a different point in my life!) If we had been seated with younger kids, regardless of their behaviour, I still would have requested a different table because of the dynamics.

Face it, with younger ones around you can't discuss the previous nights "Match Your Mate" show in quite the same way...

Thanks for letting me know about this, I will have our TA make this request on our reservations.

I agree about the dynamics and mood of the table, and conversation. Also, my younger DS is 12...going on 40 (LOL) and has little tolerance for little kids while he's eating a meal. He doesn't dislike little kids, he can be very good with them and plays with younger cousins and other relatives when they ask him to play, but for some reason, it's like nails on a chalkboard to him to be around little kids when he's trying to eat. Like you said, we've been there, done that, and now that our children are older, I would much prefer to be seated with a family whose children are at least relatively close in age to ours.

I'm famous for forgetting my PJ's. Happens every 3rd vacation or so.
