I signed up for this whole Ding thing but don't understand how it works?when it comes up on my computer I put my airport in and then what???

Assuming you downloaded it correctly and identified one or more airports to target, the only thing that you have to do is periodically check to see if you have a new message on the wing located on your taskbar. This is also assuming that you are not at your computer at the time the sale comes thru. Once a sale has begun, you simply click on the report and it will show you the various sales, routes, and dates. It may or may not be a place that you are interested it, but it will specify how the sale is on for that timeframe. If you see a sale that you like, you simply go thru the same process to purchase. On the average, there is usually two sales during the day, sometimes only one for the day. It depends on how long the ding sales are good for.

There is also a thread in this forum that tracks the dings to Orlando. You might want to check it to see what has been offered from your cities to MCO. It goes back to last November. YOu can also subscribe to this thread and get an email when a ding is released in case you can't install the ding software on a work computer.

i Installed ding. when I tried to pick my airports and hit update registration< I recieved a message "unable to connect to soutwest". Did I do something wrong? do you have to have ding in order to take advaqntage of the sales?

You do need to have Ding working in order to get the discounted fares. You may need to unistall and reinstall. In the thread that tracks the Dings, there is some info about helping to get it to work.
