Ding for travel Sept 26th thru Nov 30th... $49 each way. Must book by 9:30 PM CDT today. Hope this helps!

What is Ding? I've seen it mentioned different times, wondered what it is.
Thanks!

Thanks! My DING was still showing yesterday's fares when I saw your post. After I restarted my computer, the new DING showed up and I was able to rebook my flights for the cheaper fare. My RT airfare for Oct from StL to MCO went from $136.90 to $115.50. Hooray!

FarmGirl--DING is a program you can download from SWA website. They post specials on airfare from various cities at least once every day. Although many people get very good DING fares, I usually have better luck with the internet fares on the website.

Ding is an e-mail alert from Southwest Airlines advertising "cheap fares" for only a short time period, usually 2-4 hours.

You have to download the "DING" program from Southwest website in order to get the "DING" alert, and take advantage of the sales.

Thank You, I'm going to check it out! Looking for flights from Omaha NE for Jan. for 4 people! If you book these and something comes up or you have to change your plans, can you do this, or are you stuck. We can have really bad weather in Jan. where I live.

I just signed up for DING after reading some posts on this board last week. I have a few questions too....

Can somebody tell me how travel on SW works? It doesn't sound like they have confirmed/advanced seat assignments so how does that work for boarding at the airport?

Also, I'm flying in Feb. and they don't have anything past Jan. on the website... any idea when Feb. will be available for booking?

Lastly, if you book a regular fare off their website then a cheaper DING fare becomes available can you rebook? Do you get a real refund or a credit toward next flight?

Thanks so much!! :sunny:

Yes you do.........just cancel your old reservation and you will get the credit on your new fare....for no charge or penalty for changing your reservation.
