The Ding fare is only avaiable for our depart flight not return flight because of dates. Oct. 27 departure with Nov. 2 return which is not available yet. Should I go ahead and book one way and then hope for ding when new dates come out? What if get a better fare later. Can I rebook and apply credit to return flight?

Thanks!

DON'T DO IT! I just made this same mistake, and I can't get a reasonable fare for our return flight. It's ONLY offering me the refundable fee of $175/pp since I have to purchase a one-way ticket home.

I'm going to have to cancel the original DING! fare flights down there in order to get a reasonable RT fare. Otherwise, I'm really not saving any money.

If you book a RT with DING, you CAN later cancel just one of your legs and then rebook a cheaper one-way fare. You have to call SW to cancel the one leg. We just did this and got a $250 credit to use later. You can also book one way and then cancel and use the credit, as you said. However- there is no guarentee there will be a cheaper fare. You might want to wait until DING fares come out for your whole trip. If you have been following Ding, you get an idea about whether prices seem to be going up or down for your route.
