I downloaded the DING about 4 weeks ago and have only seen Philly to MCO offered once. Is there a pattern for these fares. :goodvibes

It seems totally random. Did you miss the PHL to MCO ding the other day?? I know they had one recently, as we also fly out of PHL. There have been probably 2 of these Philly ding fares in the past month. We booked one a few weeks ago.

In all honesty, just book the "internet advanced purchase ticket" now to make sure you get the flights you want. SWA is running $49 each way, and the ding fares have been $43 I think. If there are no internet fares available for the flights you want, there will be no ding fare available either, so don't wait.

We actually had booked a Ding fare, and then switched to the internet fare to get better flight times. It added $22 to our entire trip for 2 people.

When you see a DING that you like, check the "internet only" fare also. Several times the DING fare has been more than the Internet fare from PVD-MCO.

I just downloaded the DING program yesterday. How will it notify me if a good fare comes up? Do I get an email? TIA!

Yes I am curious also. I don't remember putting an email, so how do find out you have a ding fare?

There should be a SW "wing" on the icon part of your screen. When you get a ding it will make a ding sound and there will be an envelope in front of the wing and you click on it to see what the ding fares are. Ding is a program on the southwest.com website that you download and they send you special fares that are only available for a short period of time. You have to book it by the time it says on the ding window. Usually a matter of hours. They have some GREAT rates!! Go to www.southwest.com and click on download ding now to get these rates. :wave2:

Thanks, BB3! I guess it's time to unplug my computer headset, since I can't really hear through the computer speakers that way! I downloaded the Ding program, but until now, couldn't quite figure it out. Thanks for taking the time to bring us newbies up to speed! :flower:

Oh, southwest now I get it. They don't fly into the twin cities, that's why I never check their site. Sure with they did, in previous cities we've lived in we have save a lot of money with Southwest.

I fly out of Philly and had the ding once. But is the icon supposed to be there all the time and the envelope appears when there's a ding? Because I don't have the icon there now.

the icon should be there all the time. when you get a( ding ) it will show up as a letter on the icon

Does anyone have a problem with ding staying connected? We have broadband and it won't stay connected and there for I can't see the dings. Is there away to fix this. I'm computer stupid sometimes.

tikilyn, I have this problem also. I am not sure how to pemanently fix the problem, but it is still easy to use the ding service. As soon as I sign on, I right click on the sw wing icon. There is a little menu that pops up and then hit connect now. It only takes a few seconds and has become a routine for me. I check the ding all the time and just used it for one of my flights.

I just got $44 from MCo to PHL the other day, for 11/8 to 11/15
Not sure if it was ding.
I downloaded Ding, it didn't say PHL to MCO but I went to search flights and saw the price and purchased 6 roundtrips for $701
