can anyone remember how much this cost before it was taken off?

I thought is was around $42 per person?

At the moment we have the VIP Tour booked for August but at present the dine with shamu is not on.

I emailed Seaworld to ask what happens if still not on when we arrive and was told would get a voucher for a meal in one of the cafeteria style restaurants at the waterfront.

To be honest I can not imagine this would cost the same as the dine with shamu.

Also the website now shows the VIP with just "lunch" but is $25 less

Not sure what to do.

Do I ring up and tell them to refund me the $25 dollars per person ($200 dollars for eight of us) and get the "lunch", but if do that and dine with shamu comes back on, we want to do, so assume will have to pay the difference $25 again) or wait to see if dine with shamu comes back on, then ask for refund just before we fly out?????

Your thoughts

Just checked my files for October 2008, $39 plus tax per adult so yes about $42.

why have they stopped it?
only bad part was the personal 'splash zone' the table a few along ended up with

I did the VIP tour in April - it was a great day but like you I had problems pinning Seaworld down about lunch.
I had lots of e mails and calls back and forth and we ended up keeping our booking and having lunch in a private dining room. It was ok and my family all ate it and enjoyed it. I felt that it was not great value but it was take it or leave it. They did explain to me that they subsidise the cost of Dine with Shamu for guests on the VIP tour - it still seemed a bit doubtful and I could have complained etc but tbh it was a great day overall.
If you go for it I hope you have a great day!:goodvibes

Oh thanks for that but ................... on their website it includes ""voucher for a meal in one of the cafeteria style restaurants at the waterfront"" - but at $25 dollars per person less.

If it was you, would you ask for a refund now, or wait to see if dine with shamu comes back on? What I was wondering if I ask for the refund now, and the dine with shamu comes back will I automatically get the dine with shamu meal or just the "lunch".

I am positive I have read somewhere that people who had booked for just dine with shamu meal, got the option of the Makahiki Luau show which I think is good.
