Hello,

can anyone tell me what time you eat for the dine with shamu.

is there only one per day or do you get a choice of various times per day.

many thanks :goodvibes

These are posted two months or so before for online reservations and you can also get dining times by calling Sea World and making dining reservations. Last October when we did this and this March (We're doing this again March 16th) they just offered two times per day (Noon - 1 and 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.). You help yourself to the buffet right when you get there and the trainer talk starts and Shamu comes out to the little pool after about a half hour.

We did this once and wouldn't do it again, our DK's (3 & 5) didn't enjoy it, they enjoyed the show much more. Shamu didn't come up much and he spent more time underwater. If you have older kids they might be able to see more but if you have young ones I would give it a miss.
Sorry to be negative, but this is just my opinion.

Have a great trip:disrocks:

Kathy, we have march 19 booked for shamu at 6:30, I have two 13 year old girls...Is that a good age for the experience? is it a good vieing area for the show? thank you

Please note that this is a different experience from the Believe show. "Dine with Shamu" is more of a talk and an Orca you can see up close doing a few tricks, but not the big Believe show production or anything close to that. You can't see the Believe show from here. The Believe show is fantastic and is a must do. It's at the nearby big stadium. I'd do an afternoon Believe show and then come back for Dine with Shamu. That's what we're going to do. We're doing Dine with Shamu again on March 16th just three days before you and picked the 6:30 p.m. time too.

Some people think "Dine with Shamu" is more for families with younger kids than teens. But my son is 14, and he's the one who wanted to go again and we just went in October. That makes me biased in thinking that teens will enjoy this.

Let me comment on the food too: It's a buffet. It's good, but not great. There is a lot of variety -- salad bar, fruit, drinks, desserts, pastas, meat choices, veggies choices. They have a table for picky kids with hot dogs, chicken nuggets, pasta with butter, and tomato sauce. For picky dessert eaters, they have black and white M & Ms. You won't go away hungry. This is not, however, a fine dining experience by any means. Figure that a lot of the money you are paying is going toward feeding the Orcas.

Thank you Kathy....great info, I am sure my girls are going to love it
