I can book the dine with Shamu lunch for 83 bucks for wife kid and me with the season pass discount. Thought it would be worth the money since lunch can cost 30 bucks anyhow. Anyone heard anything about the show? I have had a hard time finding reviews. Also, I like Hoop De Doo, but what are the views on the Luau at the PR or even the Sea World Luau. I have only been to Disney 30 times inthe last 10years, but I am looking for some new stuff to do!!!!

I also plan to do the Helicopter ride and AIrboat trip this year. Any complaints on those?????

Thanks!!!

I did the dine with Shamu dinner show in Sept '02. Tables are poolside---some are pool front while some were a row behind the pool front ones. I "heard" that those who book earliest tend to get the pool front tables. We got a pool front table which was under an awning/overhang so we were not in direct sunlight.
During dinner, which was a buffet, the trainers talk to you about how they got their jobs, their background, how they train the orcas, some facts about orcas etc. Then they have Shamu do some jumps and a run around the pool. Make sure you have nothing lying on the ground under or around your table because it will get flooded. We had to lift our feet when Shamu swam past because it caused the water to crash over the side of the pool and onto the ground.
The buffet was alright---nothing fancy. Sort of felt like an outdoor picnic/bbq. You might get some more recent reviews if you post on the "Sea World" board. Hope I was able to give you a little bit of an idea.

We did the Dine with Shamu dinner in January. It is still like the previous poster described. I'm glad we did it but we will probably not do it again. The food was OK.

We did the helicopter ride off of I-Drive (next to a restaurant with Monster Trucks outside) and it was a great experience! We would totally recommend doing this.

I'll zip this over to the SeaWorld Board for you:)

Hopefully you'll get some more info about the Shamu Supper!! ;) :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We did Dinner with Shamu last year and loved it.. The food was excelelnt for the price (and being theme park). The trainers were very knowledgable and really made thee xperience interesting. We didn't have children with us but there were plenty around and they were thrilled to see Shamu swim by their dinner.

I loved it so much I bought the I ate dinner w/Shamu tshirt :) and we are planning another trip to Orlando/Tampa and DH first request was dinner with Shamu.. Booking it tomorrow.

My wife and I shall be there in early September and really hope to get poolside seats. After all, we are coming a long way from across the pond and it's going to be one of the many top highlights to our vacation.

Would it be so unlucky if we get seats away from the poolside?

Also, how comes nobody gets drenched when Shamu gets so close?

We did this last July. Unforunately, Orlando was catching the tail end of a hurricane, so it rained on and off (really hard!!) all day. During the dinner, the trainer was talking and talking, and all the while the skies were getting darker and darker. I was mentally prodding him to hurry up, before it started pouring. Well, you guessed it, as soon as it was time for Shamu to come out, a wall of water/wind swept right in, knocking over glasses on the tables and drenching everyone. Of course the Shamu part was cancelled. That was a real bummer, but honestly I felt that they could have curtailed the talking part, or at least started a little earlier, while we were all eating, in order to get the show in. We sat and sat while there was no rain and they waited too long to start the show and we ended up missing it. That did bug me a little bit... (And you do not get a refund either...)

We were lucky enough to book on the day (November) & were not poolside but still had a good view, there is only one other row behind the poolside tables so you are still close.

Wow those pictures are great!!! I cant wait to go..We are planning on going next May 2007.. does anyone know if you have to pay this up front when you book your reservaton on line or do you pay when you attend? We already have our deposit down for Discovery Cove. Thanks so much in advance!!

I have booked online for our visit this october, you pay by card & print an e-ticket out straight away which you present at guest services (i think thats where you go !!) :)

It depends on park hours. On some days there are two seatings, on others there is only one seating. According to the SeaWorld website "Seating times vary according to park show schedules. Please stop by the Dining Reservations Counter on the day of your visit for your seating time, or call 1-800-327-2424." In the past I was told you could call the 800 number a week before your date and they should be able to give you the exact time.

We will be dining with Shamu in Mid-November. When I made the reservations, I was told there was only one sitting during that time of the year. The reservation agent said it would be for dinner and it would start sometime between 4:30 and 5:30.

We went last year and overall we all enjoyed it. My biggest criticism would be that if you're on that second row with a younger child, it can be very hard for them to see past the adults on the tables at the front. Thankfully there was a great British couple who allowed my youngest to get in front with their children so she could see.

As far as the food goes, I was impressed with the variety and quality and they even beer was included for adults.

This year it's one of the things both girls have requested to do again and it's the first thing I booked, this time asking specifically for the front row.
