My DH and I are doing the Dine With An Imagineer experience this fall. I am SOOOO excited:cool1: But... I'm also a little nervous. What if I can't think of any good questions... what if (in my awe) I come across as a total dweeb! Has anyone else done this? How did it go? Any advice... like research I could beforehand??? I know...I know....I'm a complete dork!

We did this in 2008 and the Imagineer did most of the talking so you didn't really feel pressed for questions though he was happy to answer them if you had any. I remember asking about some of the differences in the parks around the world and what were some of his favorite attractions in them. I also wanted to know what he personally had worked on, what his educational background was (not to push my dreams onto DS or anything!) and WHY couldn't WDW get Haunted Mansion Holiday???

It was really interesting and I'd like to do it again one day. Honestly I didn't really love my food though, but maybe you will. Have fun!;)

Don't be too nervous. As PP said, the imagineer does most the talking.
Also it is hard to "research" for any questions because you never know which imagineer you will get. So it could be anyone, in any field.

Just sit back, relax and enjoy!! You will think of interesting things to ask when you get there.

As you won't know what your imagineer's specialty will be until you actually meet him or her for lunch, I don't know what kind of research you can do. Just play it by ear and see if their specialty inspires any questions. The one at my lunch was a structural engineer who had a part in designing Soarin' and Toy Story Mania.

This won't work for everyone - but I knew 'my' Imagineer's name and field in advance because my name has a slightly unusual spelling. One of the souvenirs you get is a name badge, and when the CM called to confirm the spelling, it was close enough to the lunch that she had this information and gave it to me. I didn't ask - she just said I was really lucky :teeth:

I'm a bit nervous about the what questions to ask to! I have a reservation for this as I will be travelling solo... figured it'd be a good place to start my first full day in the parks! I would say I was going to go and jump on the new Star Tours ride right after it, but they give you a souviner plate... I probably should take that back to my room right away, huh? Or do they have delivery for on site?

We are planning on buying something after we get our plate and have them deliver it and our plates to our room so we don't have to carry it around all day.

I did this with my daughter last fall and they held the plates at the restaurant for us until we were ready to leave the park. It was a great experience and we loved the food. Have fun!
