Trying to rent points through David for Aulani next summer. They are saying Aulani points are hard to come by and I have reached a point where I might have to jump at a condo at Ko Olina Beach Villas.

Kids will be disappointed, but at least we will be in Hawaii.

Tell the kids not to be disappointed! I've stayed at Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club - in a word - fabulous! No, it isn't Aulani. But you can take a nice 10 minute walk along the lagoons and go down for a visit or two. I hope David's is able to pull through and get you the points you need for Aulani. Good Luck!

We will be renting David's our Aulani points for next year. I have to bank by Halloween and I am contacting him after I do. I would do it now, but my sister is going to VGC in mid October and I am slightly worried she will decide not to go, so I am waiting until after that trip to bank this year's points. So, don't give up hope!

Thanks for the positive comments.

I made a reservation elsewhere, but I can cancel up to 60 days out without penalty. We'll ride it out with David until then. They seem to be struggling finding Aulani points as the resort is so new.

You might be surprised at how much availability there will be at the 7 month window... which means any points from David could be used. You are going summer which makes it more busy, but there is a LOT more inventory getting ready to come online for next summer. Have them try as soon as your 7-month window opens up. :)

Agreed! We just booked at the 7 month mark with no problem. There are a ton of villas available so you might be surprised:) we booked for 2nd wk of April which is prime Spring Break season and all room types and views available (snagged a 1 bedroom after staying in one at the GCH and loved it!).

Sweet! I had just looked at possibility of that same week and there was several room configurations available.

We rented an Aulani reservation made with our SSR points to a couple who are going on their trip next week. It doesn't seem to be very hard to get a reservation at 7 months.

I'd make a cancelable reservation somewhere either a Condo, DVC or the Marriott. Then you can realistically wait for the 7 month window and see if you can get in.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Definitely book a place you would be happy with in case you can't book Aulani. It would be horrible if you waited til 7 month window and couldn't do it, then nowhere else was available then either :scared:

Thanks everyone. I have booked a refundable condo at an adjacent resort, so I am safe until 60 days out.

As an update, I wanted to let everyone know we got our Aulani reservation thru David's Vacation rentals today. Took longer than I expected, but we are thrilled we will be visiting Aulani in July of next year.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:yay::yay:

So glad you got Aulani you will not be disappointed. I have stayed at both
the Marriott Ko-Olina and Aulani and they are totally different. Aulani is much
nicer a lot more to do all activities are included where at Marriott you have to pay
extra . I found Aulani to be more kid friendly we stayed last july and had a
wonderful time Enjoy

Congrats! So glad it worked out for you guys..

We will be at our 7-month window on Monday... crossing my fingers for a 2BR Standard ressie :)
