Have not seen anything on this other than posts from several years ago. Can you get dim sum at WDW? Wife is talking about taking a cab off site to get lunch, but that takes time away from the parks, and will no doubt include the cost of shopping, which I have no interest in.

Can you get it at Epcot at Nine Dragons, or any of the resort restaurants?

Help, we leave Tuesday.

No, there is no place at WDW to get Dim Sum.

There are only two really decent places in the Orlando area for it.

Chan's Chinese Cuisine at 1901 East Colonial in Orlando (407-896-0093) serves Dim Sum seven days a week from rolling carts. Several times my late wife and I went there and although it was crowded we were the only non-Asians in teh restaurant. Unfortunately it is about 25 miles, which would be about a $50 tax ride (each way).

The other is Ming Court at 9188 South International Drive (407-351-9988) but they (a) serve Dim Sum to order (from the kitchen) and (b) tend to be on the expensive side. That is about 12 miles and taxi will run about $25 each way).

Allears shows dim sum basket at the Yak & Yeti in AK. Here's how it's described:

Dim Sum Basket - Pork pot stickers, shrimp siu mai, cha su bao, and pork sie mai steamed on a banana leaf, soy lime dipping sauce $12.99

Not quite the same as the "cart" experience, but the combo sounds yummy! I hope I can get in there when we go in a week!

1) Of course, you can wait until twilight.
2) Then you get "some dim".

The dim sum basket at Yak & Yeti was yummy, but it was VERY small. We were a little disappointed by the size of the dim sum items. It was a nice break from the bustling of the park, but go elsewhere if you want a real dim sum experience.

Anyone who knows dim sum will be disappointed by the dim sum basket at Yak & Yeti (anyone who knows good food will be too, but don't get me started). The basket is nothing more than an appetizer platter.
You have to venture into real Orlando for dim sum. Beside the two mentioned, Chans and Ming Court, there's another that's even more authentic and much better: Ming's Bistro. It's at 1212 Woodward Street in Orlando, which is in the Asian community centered at Mills Avenue and Colonial Drive. It is, however, too far for a cab ride, unless you plan to purchase the cab.

Wow, Scott, nice to see you are still around, but you seem to be hating the disney restaurants more than ever. What's up with that. We have respected your opinion for many, many years but lately everything disney for you comes with only negative comments!

There are plenty of Disney restaurants I love -- Victoria & Albert's, Bistro de Paris (Cafe de France, too), California Grill, Flying Fish Cafe, Jiko (wonderfully improved), just to mention a few.
But the question at hand regarding dim sum just doesn't have a positive response where WDW restaurants are concerned. Indeed, few restaurant off property can do dim sum well.
Hope that clears up my remarks.
Scott

Based on this thread I tried the Dim Sum basket at Yak & Yeti and it was yummy! I had it for my main course at lunch and it was a great portion size. I agree it would not suit someone really cravinv dim sum, but I recommend it on its own merits!
