No, we really can not afford to go to HHN, but DH job mandates we loose our minds and become the drones falling into the meat grinder (yes that is Pink Floyd reference;)) or spend the money and go to HHN as cheaply as possible and keep our sanity. I've got great rates for air, hotel, car and we will eat one meal a day with the full kitchen at the hotel.

As for the HHN tickets, I have a Superbowl freeby ticket. It would be cheaper if DH doesn't go to the parks except for HHN on Oct 28 and 29. He only went to the parks 3 times for about 4 hours when we went Feb '08 so I don't think he will mind too much not going during the day. (and I will get some alone time to meander thru the parks without worrying if he is having fun) From what I've read, we will lose time standing at the gates if we buy the FF passes. There is no way we can afford the EPP, but we would have 2 nights to see and do what we want this way. We really do not need to do everything there is to offer, lets say 6-8 of the houses, scare zones, a couple of rides and maybe RH. Cost: $140+tax

OR

Is it better to get DH a 7 day ticket and do the S&S tickets? That way we are both in the park and can utilize the extra time before the general public gets let in. Can we do 6 houses, scare zones and RH on the 28th? How many houses that late in the month do you think we can get thru before the gates "open"? We can only afford to go to HHN that Wed. with this option. And still no EPP. Cost: $160+tax

I've read older posts and I just can not decide which option is better. The $20 difference isn't big enough to sway us either way. I think it all boils down to how many houses we can do with S&S before the general public gets in. We have a 7am flight on Fri, so leaving the park early Thurs would be a good idea, but we could always sit at the Waffle house for a couple of hours inbetween USF closing and our flight in the morning and save on that last night of hotel cost.:scared1::rotfl2: Any suggestions?

if it were me, i would rather do two nights of hhn than just one night.

get to the entrance gate at 5:00.
you'll be up front and in soon once the gates open to the general public.

if you only do the houses, walk through the scare zones and take in a show, you can get quite a few things done until the crowds get too great and the lines get too long.

when that happens, go back to your hotel room.

the next night, do the houses you missed the night before.

Thank you. I thought the experts might lean the other way and say being in the park before the gates open would be a bigger plus. (hence the dilemma) Your way saves us some money and we get 2 nights out of it.

your dates are for a wednesday and thursday.
you don't know in advance what type of crowds will be there.
weekdays can be iffy to guess in advance.

it is the last week of hhn but those are work days for most locals.
that can also determine the crowd level.

i still say, go 2 nights.
you might be able to do a lot on the wed and you might not.

two nights without the express pass will get you to see more things in hhn.
