This might be a dumb question but here goes. I like 12x12 albums and I can't afford a 12x12 printer. (Might send DH over the edge if I spend money for that.;) ) So how do you make a digital page when you have an 8x11 printer?:confused3 There has to be a way for 12x12's right?

I either make the page 6x6 then, and print them for a 6x6 album, or I actually start out the digital file as 8.5x11 :goodvibes

When working digital, you always want to know what your finished product size is going to be... you never want to go back to hundreds of layouts and change them all (believe me, I have and it's not fun LOL)

I create digital 12x12 LOs. I plan to make a photobook when I'm done with a whole book. You can do this from many sites like shutterfly.com. If you want them in a regular scrapbook album, you can have them sent out to a place that prints 12x12, like sbtoshare.com, you can also use costco if you have one nearby. What most people do is resize their 12x12 and print as 8x8. Always create at a larger size and just make them smaller for the print. If you want to go larger, your layout will look pixellated and bad, but going down works great.

The easiest solution and the most economical is to create them and then have them printed and bound into a book. I'm currently working on my 12x12 of our cruise. I will have it printed with Heritage Makers when I'm done. There are lots of options out there. Let me know if you'd like more info on HM.

Stupid question alert!!!

I am making my first attempt at digital scrapbooking, so please bare with me.

If I design a 11x11 in photoimpact, save it as a jpeg on a disk and take it to Costco I know that I will have to pay for a 11x14 print, but will the actual image still be 11x11 or will they stretch the image?

I want to print 11x11, mount it to a 12x12 border and slide it into a regular 12x12 scrapbook.

at costco they will stretch the image to fit. the best plan for costco is to design at 12x12 and then get a 12x18, then you can fit a 12x12 and 2 shrunken 6x6 on that page for the same price. Then you can give 2 gift books for no extra cost.
