Wen, what beautiful pages! I am learning a lot from you all and look forward to the challenge tomorrow!

Jessica, definately check out the Adobe sight -- i was use to 3.0 - but then i got 5, and it's basically the same..you'll have no problem. ;)

Ok, here is my lo for tonight -- as soon as i saw this kit in ScrapMatters, i had to get it! I love love love tropical themed kits!! Especially if i can relate them to my Disney pics!! (*hint *hint) ;)

ok, kit is by Ellie Lash called "Waiamea"
subtle mickey's here and there - by Brittney!

The glitter overlay is from Britt's Glitzy Overlays, I got it for being a "show off." I'm pretty sure you can get it at Scrapmatters.
The castle is actually from my sister's trip as the finding Nemo ride had the place so packed I couldn't get a shot if I tried. (she went early in the season) Anyway yes, I will share, no problem. PM me your email and I'll send you a zip.
Thank you everybody. You have no idea how happy I am to be here.
Wen, GREAT pages!!!! Question for ya -- well, actually, 2.

1. On your 2nd lo - that large 12x12 glitter swirl overlay, where is that from -- i am probably tired and just can't find it..

2. On your Disneyland page with the large background of the castle, is that a pic you took of the castle? IF so, can you share it? We just went to Disneyland in Feb, and it was my first time there in over 10 years, and my dd's first time at all -- and i don't have a REALLY good shot of the castle, it rained both days we were there.. go figure.

Didn't realize there was a 2nd page before I posted.
Labdogs, yes, I posted that at Scrapmatters. My daughter collects Tink images so she was on my hard drive. If you google Tinkerbell, you'll find all sorts of clip art. My program has a page curl function so the map was pretty simple to do. All that stuff is the actual stuff from the park, even the tickets. The scanner has been my best friend doing these LO's.
Caitsmama that's adorable! I just used one of Ellie Lash's kits in combination with one of Britt's the other day.

I created this one this morning for the challenge over at SM. Wanted to get this done so I could concetrate on Brittney's coming challenge here  But this page doesn't feel quite "done". Can't decide if I should make the words smaller and/or include more embellishments or what. What do y'all think? Also... there's more than 10 things here that I want to teach the kids. There's 12 points of the Scout law so I wanted to use those but it might disqualify me for the SM challenge. Did y'all read that it was 10 things to list or am I misinterpreting this?

Now I'm just sitting here highly anticipating Brittney's challenge and wondering how much design I could get away with at work. :rotfl2:

PS -- just remembered credits... unfortunately, I picked up the celtic ribbon somewhere and can't remember where. Everything else I made. Guess that doesn't help much for credits, does it? I'm trying :rotfl2:

Caitsmama -- I love that LO! That tropical pack looks amazing with the Lilo & Stitch pictures. I love the hidden Mickeys, too! Ellie Lash is another favorite of mine. Her stuff is so cute.

Hypermommy -- nice LO, too! As for not feeling finished, I think I'd add some shadows to the picture and the mats to make them look a little more dimensional and then maybe put some paper behind the title or maybe some kind of frame around it. If you want to add more embellishments, maybe some brads or staples to "hold" the mats and papers in place would look nice. It might even be cool if you made the words less opaque and they sort of blended into the paper a little bit. That's the best thing about digital -- you can try stuff out and if it doesn't work, you can undo it!

Great ideas! Thanks!!! I'll have to try them when I get home. Good thing I didn't bring the PSD with me to the office or I'd want to be trying them out right now! :)

What program do you use that has the page curl function. That's a really cool effect.
I use Paint Shop Pro X2, it's in the effects section.
I agree with Labdogs suggestions for your LO and would add maybe using all different types of fonts. I read the challenge and it says list 10 things but it didn't say anything about more. Maybe ask someone to clarify?
I'm excited about Britt's challenge too!

Hi, I'm new and I have a couple of questions after reading. I haven't started yet because I'm waiting for my laptop to get back from repair, should be here today, whoo hoo!! So, I have downloaded a few freebies and bought a pack to use. If I post a LO here I assume I need to say where I got the items? Also, if I see a LO that I think is really neat and I want to do something similar is that ok? I saw something about stealing, and I don't want to do anything wrong. I'm assuming since more than one person can download the same pack that you might get some similar LOs, so where is the line? Just want to make I know what I'm doing before I get started! Thanks :thumbsup2

Crediting the designer is always appreciated and "scrap lifting" is fine. It's nice to acknowledge who you got the idea from too but you don't have to.

A few more from me:
Britt-ish-Leave the World Behind and Mouse in the House

Britt-ish-Her Royal Highness

Britt-ish-Leave the World Behind and Ellie Lash Far Far Away

Tborntreger-Automoplay and some stickers

Helen at GDs , Spotted paper-paper tag

Wow, wenrob, those are amazing! I love how you combined the Leave the World Behind and Far Far Away kits. I bought far far away to do Tomorrowland pics, too, thanks for the ideas, I especially like how you divided the page with that ribbon! How did you do the magic font on the first page? I really like that clear, beveled look.

Oh boy, I need to break out the scanner and all of my memorabilia from the last trip. I love how you included the buttons, too. (OK, scan buttons, park maps, tickets, etc...I'll be busy!) I think I might even scan the new pins I bought for my collection. oooh...the possibilities are endless...Maybe memorabilia should be an upcoming challenge theme!

OMG! These pages are amazing! Please share what kits/elements you used!
Thanks!

ckdipp, all of my images are clickable and will take you to full credits! :) Most of the stuff is by me, Britt-ish designs. But yeah, the full credits are in the gallery and you can get there by clicking each image.

Great suggestions labdogs. Hypermommy, your LO is great! Sometimes taking a break from staring at it and coming back later will allow you a better perspective. That's how it is for me. But I agree with lab. Some shadows will make a big difference. And go ahead and add 2 more things to your 10. I'll explain to Tami. It wouldn't get disqualified anyway!! We're not that strict!!! HAHAH

A few more from me

WOW!! I LOVE the Cars one. I love the big speedometer in the background and all the license plates!! SOOOO cute.

Just like WenRob said, its totally fine to copy a LO or be inspired by something someone else did. I do it all the time. What they are talking about stealing is buying a kit or pack of elements and then giving a copy to someone. That's piracy and its illegal, not to mention very rude to the designer who worked so hard to make the digi-products.

But looking at someone else's LO and making one thats similar is called "scraplifting" and its perfectly fine. I try and always give mention of who I scraplifted in my credits when I do that. And yes, you always should give full credit of the products you use when you post a LO online. I keep track of mine as I scrap the page so I don't forget!!

Alrighty - next post from me will be a link to the CHALLENGE!!!!

Aw, thanks! The Magic is from the GDS April collab kit but you can pretty much get acrylic letters anywhere, they're all the rage right now. I have a set from Elemental scraps that has seven different colors. A tip I learned is to shadow on a different layer and then select you words w/magic wand, click on shadow layer and hit delete, then only your outside will be shadowed. Does that make sense?
I'd totally be up for a memorabilia challenge. I still have my CA Adventure stuff to do and I want to do DD's pin collection as well.

Great job on all of them!!!
