I'm probably going to turn this one into a 2 page LO, on the other page will be pixie hollow in general. I saw this Pixie kit from Ellie Lash right after getting home, and HAD to buy it. :) I know I'm going to do several LOs from meeting the fairies. They are all SO spot on as the fairies!!

Yep, saw the pixie kit, *had to* buy it! This group is starting to cost me! ;)
We took our favorite 3 year old to meet the fairies and between DW and I we took over 100 photos in a few minutes! There should be a few LOs in that bunch. :)

My Project 365 LO for the 2nd week of our trip. I just ignored the 3 days after we got home for this LO, lol.

RUN, run now. ;) I remember when I thought doing digi would save me money! Haha, seriously, it does cost WAY less than paper scrapping, but I've spent more than I thought I would originally. The key to saving money is to stop looking at everyone's beautiful LOs so you don't want to buy more, lol.

Lauren-Beautiful LOs! I *love* Mary. :) I've never seen her at DHS, though!

Loving your 365 project Heather! I envy your dedication!

I'm on a Disney Roll lately but I'm almost out of pics.:sad2: Going to have to figure out a way to convince DH that we need to go again soon!

journaling: This ride was cute! The theming through the queue was downright amazing. I wish that I could've taken more photos but since there was no line we went right through. But the funniest part was Roz, who was right at the end of the ride. Since it was our first time on it we had no idea that she was interactive. As I was taking her photo, she yelled out, "Hey - you left your lens cap on!!" I about died Laughing. She didn't.

To those of you who have external hard drives:
what are some good qualities to look for? (besides a large memory) I know that I can ask the sales person, but chances are that he or she is not a digi-scrapper! :)

While I have your attention: what are some good qualities to a scanner? Do I need to have a certain quality for scanning pictures?

Thanks!

Will let someone else answer your scanner question. RE: External Hardrive, you will want to make sure that it is a fairly known/recognizable name. Also, check out a few different sites (tiger direct, frys, best buy & costco) before you decide. There is still a huge difference in pricing compared to sale prices. Not sure your use or if you use a Mac/PC, but if you are planning on using for backup purposes, I 100% +++++ suggest getting a home server! Inherent in the home server is a parsing of the HD and it creates another copy of all your data. Doesn't protect against fire/damage, but all other issues, you are good!

Britt - what a fun lo!

Hey Suzi,

To answer your question on EHD's, I have (3). My first being a 500 gig My Book (available at Costco), I have all of my computers, I have (3) of those too backed up on this drive. I consider this my security. At this point because I bought mine almost two years ago, I would consider buying a Teribyte My Book, double the memory for less money. Prices have fallen on these items considerable in the last year. The My Book has all of my photos (over 13,000) backed up on it, if I want to go back a couple of years I just whip out the My Book and retrieve the photos I want as well as all of my Photoshop completed pages. I guard this one with my life.

What I like about my My Book is that I can still pack it in my computer bag and take it with me or leave it on my desk ready to use. My 2nd & 3rd EHD's are Western Digitals, about 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches with a USB cord to attach to your computer. These are extremely handy. One is 150 gig (basic black) and the second one is 250 gig (bright yellow). On the 250 gig I keep all my digi supplies and items I am designing, I basically have this one with me in my computer bag at all times. The 150 gig I just keep documents and other data, it is living a semi-retired life.

Another handy suggestion, take a photo of your drivers license and on a post it I included my cell phone number. I have a copy of this file on each of my EHD's and I do the same this with all of my camera's and lock that photo so it can't be erased. In the case that I lose one of these items I would hope that an honest person would contact me.

Hope this helps!:

Recent LO, not from my current trip. Click for credits

BTW, wenrob, even though it isn't a baseball LO, I went to the game because it was Phillies night (if the page was bigger, you could see that in the journaling ;)) I already did a page for the Phils players participation, but this was for the game itself. :D Also, if anyone likes QPs, I turned into it this QP for SM's March QPE.

Loving your 365 project Heather! I envy your dedication!

I've been bad since I got back , though. I don't know whether to skip the weeks or just fib, lol. I have ideas for certain pics for times like this. ;)

I'm on a Disney Roll lately but I'm almost out of pics.:sad2: Going to have to figure out a way to convince DH that we need to go again soon!

I can never run out of Disney pics, I can't imagine!! I LOVE this LO, I already commented at SM. :)

So cute, Britt! I love all your CT's LOs, too. I don't even have that many bugs life LOs to do, but I had to get that kit. It's just too cute. I saw that it makes cute Pooh LOs, too.

Google ran some statistics on their disk farms and found little difference in failure rate among the major manufacturers. What they did find was a rapid increase in failure rate after two years of use. So, it seems that if we go with WD, Seagate, etc. we should be ok.

I shop Amazon and have seen 1TB drives for a little over $100, not a bad deal.

Most printers require 300 ppi for maximum quality so we should scan at that resolution. Almost any scanner can exceed that, more than 300 does not give better quality, just larger file size (this is not so if we choose to enlarge the image size). Also, a lot of printed material is not printed at more than a certain number of lines per inch so again there is often no gain in scanning it at a higher resolution.

Thanks for much for your input and time! I appreciate it!!!

I deliberately copied the journaling on this LO to post it with the credits, but of course that's on the other computer, lol. This is from a flight we had back from our spring training trip 2 years ago, one that was a total nightmare. The only good thing was that I was able to snap this pic (I got some better pics on another Disney trip, I'll scrap those eventually.)

I've been working on this page for almost a week and finally finished it. It's for one of the roadmap to scrap challenges at ScrapMatters

Self Portrait

I just started digital scrap-booking. It's crazy that I took this long because I am a graphic designer so it's really the same thing! I didn't want flat looking pages or to just plug photos into a pre-done layout. I like to do everything from scratch. I found several free online resources where you can download paper, embellishments and alphabets that are very cute. I doubt I'll completely give-up traditional scrap-booking, just continue with both as the mood strikes!

Enough gabbing! Here are my pages-
