digital scrapbooking

I have been researching places to have my pages printed and I came across a web site that had good reviews on the digital scrapbooking site I was on. It is: http://sbtoshare.com/ It seems very resonable at $2 per page for a 12x12 layout. I plan on trying them soon since my first digital album is almost done.

I use a Canon i9900 to print 12 x 12 pages. The printer has recently been replaced in Canon's lineup with the Pro9000 so the i9900 may be on sale. It does a *great* job of printing photos and scrapbook pages.

Instead of printing all the pages at 12 x 12 I sometimes use a 8 x 10 page with a 2 x 10 sidebar for the journaling. In this case the sidebar continues the image of the cliffs.

Chris, let us know how that 8x8 album comes out. I'm particularly interested in the color. I've talked with some people who have had trouble getting their colors right on various commercial print jobs.

I'd love to have a 12 x 12 printer, but with the paper and inks, yikes, too expensive. Much cheaper to have them printed.

Interesting that this comes up right now..... I was just going to ask about this today.....

I made an 8 x 8 scrapbook for DSIL and brought it to Staples on Friday to make color copies before I mailed the book to her. I was not at all impressed with the quality/colors of the copies. I had to make multiple adjustments for each page before the color would come out even close to correct. FOrtunately they didn't charge me for the "test" pages. I also made a few color copies at Kinkos a few weeks ago (not scrapbook pages, but full color stuff) and had no trouble with the color (although they charge for EVERY page, even if it didn't come out right). Do you think that Kinkos has better machines?? The price at Kinkos was MUCH higher than Staples, which is why I headed to Staples to do the book this week (.39 vs. .89 per page).

SO ANYHOW, I am going to be making another scrapbook that I will need TWO copies of.... and they need to be GOOD copies (for gifts.) Where is the best place to get that done??? BTW, they are paper scrapbooks, not digital. Thanks all........................P

I also print my pages on a Canon I990. I can't recommend this printer as anything but excellent. The quality is awesome.

I print my 12 x 12 layouts on an Epson 1270 (a fairly old model printer) and the prints are unbelievable, so I can only imagine what the prints from newer model printers look like.

At $2 a print I would think it would be worth having them professionally printed though if I lived in the US. I'm not sure what the costs of printing are there for you...I'm in Canada and glossy paper costs me approx. $40 CAD for 20 sheets plus there's the cost of ink. :( I haven't found anywhere here with printing prices like that and to send them to the US & pay for shipping probably wouldn't be worth it for me, so for now I'll continue doing it myself. I have to admit though that having the control of printing them yourself is nice...instant gratification. ;)
