Digital Scrapbooking Newbie?'s

There are a couple sites and galleries dedicated to Disney scrapbooking, digital and paper. MouseScrappers has a huge gallery and lots of threads to ask questions and to help you find digital scrapbooking products that would work well in a disney album. There are lots of digital designers out there that mainly do Disney ish stuff.

If you are looking for ideas for Disney paper layouts google PaperMice. they have a nice site as well.

I use Persnickity Prints to print all of my albums and pages. Their quality is AMAZING! I've tried several other sites but nowhere I've found can match their quality.

Can't wait to get some great photos on our trip soon. Thanks for all the info- still unsure on how to start but I have lots of info to research and get started!:goodvibes

I am a digital scrapbooker and I use Photoshop CS4 to scrap. It is a very expensive program but Adobe has a light version called Photoshop Elements that you can use too.

I have a regular photo printer that I use to print my stuff at home (when I actually get around to printing). I scrap my pages 12x12 but print 8x8 because I just like the size of it. There is a really good place online you can have stuff printed at called Persnickety Prints and if you "like" their facebook page they often post about sales on printing.

The site that I am a member of that I love is called Sweet Shoppe Designs. I can't post the link since Im a new member but feel free to PM me and I can give you the link.

There are tutorials out there to get you started in digital scrapbooking. PM me if you are interested!

When you print your page at home, what type of paper are you printing it on? Doesn't it use a lot of ink?

also sending you a PM.

Any of you Apple users? what have you guys been using?

I use a Mac and dabble in digital. I would use CM products, mainly because I adore their stuff but it's also pretty user friendly. I use my photoshop on occasion but I can't really get the handle of it.

How did y'all learn to use Photoshop? I am really interested in digital scrapping through Photoshop. Did y'all take classes, look up tutorials online, or just jump in head first?

Jodi

I think most people just jump right in.

Another vote for CM. The Storybook Creator 4.0 is coming in September and I'm very excited. I always say, it must have been designed by a woman because literally you can just upload it and get going. It's very intuitive - which I like, I don't have time or energy to work on something that is difficult or frustrating.

Sometimes I print my pages with Costco because I don't plan ahead and can't wait for the mail. But I really like printing books and everything at CM. Their pages are thicker/sturdier, I prefer the stitched binding and their color quality is so much higher than anyone else's I've seen. If I'm spending the time, money and energy, I want my books to last.
