Hi All

I luv the Disboards and thought I'd post this ? here as I know I will get some good advice...

I love to scrap and have been doing so for the last 13 yrs. I just made a digital scrapbook using my photos and disney photopass ones on their site. It was pricey but worth it. Now, I am thinking I'd like to start doing digital photo books for everyday, here's my question

What's your favorite way to make pages, what programs/sites do you use, how do you make a book (print at home, send out, etc)? Let me know what is the best way to start.

Thanks in advance for your advice:thumbsup2

I have heard that most use Photoshop then have Staples (that type store) print them out unless they have a 12 x 12 printer

I'm thinking about it too.

Snapfish is suppose to have some good stuff too

I am a digital scrapbooker and I use Photoshop CS4 to scrap. It is a very expensive program but Adobe has a light version called Photoshop Elements that you can use too.

I have a regular photo printer that I use to print my stuff at home (when I actually get around to printing). I scrap my pages 12x12 but print 8x8 because I just like the size of it. There is a really good place online you can have stuff printed at called Persnickety Prints and if you "like" their facebook page they often post about sales on printing.

The site that I am a member of that I love is called Sweet Shoppe Designs. I can't post the link since Im a new member but feel free to PM me and I can give you the link.

There are tutorials out there to get you started in digital scrapbooking. PM me if you are interested!

I have just recently started messing with digital scrapbooking. I downloaded free software from scrapbookflair. It works ok. I do have an older version of photoshop on my desktop but need to get the newer version on my lap top. The free software was nice though to play around with before investing a lot of money, to see if you like it?? I really do not know too much though because I am still learning myself. Will try to post to the digital thread later of my new layouts.

We are presenting many great choices here. I use Creative Memories -Storybook Creator 3. If you go on their website, they do offer a free trial program, so you can decide if you like it.
I did a 12 x 12 book last yr on our trip to Disney, loved the way it came out.

I use Photo Shop also and upload my pages to Shutterfly. I order my books from them.

There are lots of sites online that offer Freebies. That will help get you started.

As of right now I have uploaded photos to shutterfly and use their site to make pages, but it seems I can get software like photoshop or Creative Memories and make my pages on the computer then upload those to shutterfly and then have a book made?

I have Storybook Creative Plus 3.0 as well. I have printed out 8 1/2 x 11 recipe pages, I have had pages printed and inserted into albums along with traditional pages, and I have uploaded pages to be printed thru CM. I like their books the best because they stitch the binding of the books. Most others glue the books.

I am interested in learning digital scrapbooking as well. I haven't scrapped a traditional layout in a long time, but feeling the urge to get creative.

I use storybook 3 from creative memories also. I have been doing it for a few years and love it, they are always coming out with more stuff for it. I like being able to buy the click and fill pages and then adding my own papers ect to them. But the design is already there, I just pick the page template that I want to use. I bring in whatever disney stuff I want from where ever and then use it, I also print my books from other places or print pages at costco. U should use the free trial and see if you like it. It pretty much only lets you put in photos thoe. They have a lot of predone pages on there web sight that you can download and then drop your pic in. Contact a rep and ask for a demo of the full version, it is a great program and easy to use. I'm still learning new tricks all the tme. like how to make your paper look like glitter. it was so easy. have fun with whatever you choose to go with.

I just finished a scrapbook on mixbook. It was a great and easy-to-use site. I am new at digital scrapbooking and what I like about it was I could upload my photos and do it online. I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy a software program at this stage. They had a bunch of free templates, paper, embellishments and about 25 fonts to choose from. It sold me, as opposed to other sites in that I can move around my photos, they aren't locked into a template. You just create the book for free and then you can order it if you choose. I get emails with discounts from time to time with them.

I'd like to do a Disney book but they have no Disney theming. Perhaps I could jpg some stickers and paper and add those as photos and bring them to the front or back as needed. I might try that.

That sounds great Jolene- let us know if that works:)

I use Storybook Creator 3 from CM too, and really love the additions that they have come up with, especially the Disney ones! If I am ever short of an embellishment, I have printed out something from one of the Disney additions and cut it out to put it on my page.

I also do a digital page here and a digital page there..sometimes I use the CM photo center to print them out, but more often I go to Costco. I put them in my page protectors in my albums along with my traditional pages. Occasionally I will also do hybrid pages, where I start a digital page, print it out, and then embellish it with traditional supplies. More often then not, I will use the digital program to make a collage page rather than go to another on-line collage program.

I haven't done an entire book for a while, but think they are great for vacations, and I can see doing one for each year, especially if you want to do one for each family member, since they are so easy to duplicate.

Another vote for Photoshop. I use a Canon Pro 9000 to print 12 x 12 pages, it makes great prints but uses a lot of ink (Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl paper on "Best" setting). Still, it is worth it to have the prints done at home.

How did y'all learn to use Photoshop? I am really interested in digital scrapping through Photoshop. Did y'all take classes, look up tutorials online, or just jump in head first?
