Does anyone know how much they charge to transfer images from the camera to CD?

I am trying to decide if I really want to LUG my laptop down there this trip. We are flying this time and really do not want the hassle at the airport.

The countd :wave2: own is on!!!!!

I'm not sure how much the charge is, but just a quick word of warning: I have read other posts on the DIS where people have lost their pictures because the transfer did not work! If you do this, make sure it will not erase them from your camera in the event the cd comes out blank! :)

We did it at MK. They send them out and you stop by and get them the next day. We had no problems at all. It was $6 something. We did not pay over $7.
We went to the Kodak shop right inside to the right next to Tony's.

Ok.

So they upload the pics and then send that out???

Or do they keep your card?

We gave them the card to send out. We got the card back and also got the disc.

I had my pics transferred from my card to a cd in EPCOT at the Kodak center by Spaceship Earth. It was $13.99 for a CD. They did it right there and gave me my card and the CD. They can not show that the pics were transferred because of privacy rights but they show you a folder. I got home yesterday and all my pics are on there. I had a 1GB card and a 256 and it filled two CD's.

I would bring your own laptop. It's very easy at the airport. You just stick it in a bin and it goes through the scanner. Not hard at all and then you know that the images transferred to your computer. You could burn the cd while on vacation.

Can I offer another suggestion? We decided this time to take extra cards. We don't want to bring the laptop and don't want to have to send out our card so we are going to take extra memory cards. Just another idea.

Thanks everyone!

I think I am going to buy an extra card for this trip.

I have taken the laptop many times traveling - Just do not want to deal with it. It is an extra heavy bag.....

We took two 256 cards and the 32 that came with the camera. We were there for 14 days and filled the cards on the last day with hotel pics. That was plenty of storage for us

We are taking our laptop(did this last year) wasnt really a hastle, plus this way each night, when we go back to Pop we upload many of our pics to our webpage each night. :3dglasses

We took my laptop but also had the pics burned to a cd in the MK. It was 11.99 each time. They checked to make sure that the pics were on the cd before they gave the cd to me. It took 10 mins one time and 15 min the next time. We just waited. I also checked to make sure the pics were there on my laptop before erasing the card. We take two of the 256 cards but liked the idea of having it burned to the cd also.

I'm taking 3 1G cards. Even at high resolution, that's over 1500 pictures. That should be enough? :confused3
