Hoping there is an easy solution to this I just haven't heard about yet...

I just returned from a trip mid-May where I had my brand new Canon digital rebel camera stolen and all photos lost.

As crazy as it sounds, I am returning for 3 days (in Sept. with free dining :thumbsup2 ) with just DD4 to redo some of the photos. Obviously DH and DS2 won't be there, nor will GPs, but I am really hoping to recapture pics of DD4 with the various princesses which were my most cherished photos of the trip. After all, she will never be this age again!

Here's the question: short of bringing a laptop (which I will NOT be doing, with just me to carry luggage for both of us through 3 airports and through customs) is there a way to download pics each day to try to prevent losing them through, god forbid another theft, or camera malfunction, ect.

To me, it would make brillant sense if Disney supplied some kind of technical room at the parks or resorts which allowed digital camera users without laptops to transfer photos to a disc during a trip. Is there anything at all like this available?

Many thanks!:)

At most of the parks (at least MK and EPCOT) Disney will transfer images to CD -- though the cost is hefty. Approx $13 per CD.

The photo centers offer this service.

Do you have an iPod? The new iPod videos have an optional accessory that will download and store your pics on the hard drive. It's around $30.

You can download your pics to CD at the photo centers in all 4 parks. Cost is $13 per CD, limit 120 pics. If they are busy, you may have to leave your memory card with them.

The camera centers in MGM, MK, and AK, and the Kodak Imageworks in Epcot, also have self-service download machines. Cost here is also $13 per CD, but I think you can put as many of your pics on these CD as will fit.

If you have a car, a better option is to go to the Walgreens 24-hour photo centers in the WDW area, where they will download your pics to CD for only $4 a disk.

Besides downloading, if you don't have a laptop with you the best thing you can do to prevent loss of photos is to have multiple memory cards and split your pics up. I never have more than one day worth of pics on any given memory card, so if I lose the card I will never lose more than one day of pics.

Try the following link

If you do not have an ipod this maybe the next best solution. It costs about 150, i got it on sale for 100. The one i have holds 40 gigs and is compatible with most of the major memory cards.

I am very paranoid when it comes to digital pictures, i will bring my laptop and burn the images to cd.

What I would do is buy some cheaper memory cards, ones that don't hold as many pictures, and use a different card each day. That way, you can keep the other cards in your room and download them when you get home.
