How does it work? Our local cable company has a plan for $34.95/month that includes caller-ID, call waiting, 3 way calling, voice mail, call forwarding, free local and long distance calls.

Does anyone have it? Do you like it?

I had it for a while, when they first introduced it. Back then it was very buggy. My telephone (which is located in Massachusetts) would ring in Michigan (to the surprise of the person who lived there). They never did work that out, though I suspect if I stuck with them another three or four weeks, they might have. :)

Anyway, the biggest problem I have with digital telephone service is that it goes out when your power goes out, and that happens a lot around here.

My friend has it here in MI through Comcast. She says it's fine but when I talk to her sometimes she sounds like a robot. Then when we had some internet connection problems it affected her phone as well, obviously...kept disconnecting us...

One of my friends has digital phone service and has no complaints except one... it cuts him off at EXACTLY the 4 hour mark. (Yes, 4 hour phone calls are common for him, since his GF is long distance.)

I have Vonage and LOVE it! It has a few problems occasionally, but actually FAR less than the landline with Sprint had. That ALWAYS had problems. I like the fact that for a set fee ($24.95) I can call the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, the UK, France, Ireland, Italy and Spain and never get a long distance charge! Works for me!!

We have a all in one package. Digital Phone, Cable and high speed. The phone does go out if power goes out, but we just use our cell phones then. Occasionally it does digitize and make you sound like a robot. But overall for the cost, I think its worth it. $35 a month to sit on the phone with Florida and SC for many hours a month, yup really worth it.

That's what I'm thinking. My sister lives in Florida. I use my cell now to call her, but it uses my minutes. We don't have too many issues with power outages since I live in town, but even if it does go out, I have my cell.

Thanks for all the replies.
