Obviously the consensus is that blue card holders are exclusively eligible for the merchandise and dining discounts, but I have never thought this was completely clear:
“Membership Extras, such as exchange options in the Disney Collection and all of the Concierge Collection, certain discounts, offers, and special events are incidental benefits.”
If blue card holders were exclusively eligible for discounts, then why use the word “certain” in there?
I am a white card holder, and am not afraid to say I have received discounts on both merchandise and dining in the past (in fact, I have never NOT received these discounts), because presenting a blue card was asked for, nor required by, the CM. All I have ever been asked is: “Are you a DVC member?” I answered yes. I showed my white card and ID. I got the discount.
My new digital card shows the correct “DVC ND” affiliation. And if I no longer get discounts as a result, oh well - no big deal. After all, that’s what I was led to believe when I bought the contract. But it will also mean not purchasing as much as I have in years past, ultimately helping my wallet and hurting Disney.
Here’s a question I have:
Has anyone with a “DVC ND” affiliation actually tried to obtain a discount as of yet with the new card? If so, what happened?
