Digital Membership Cards?

I wonder if they are updating peoples accounts a little at a time. This afternoon, we were just getting ready to call ms to see if they could help us figure out why we had DVC in the affiliations but no Y. My husband decided to look at his one more time before calling and the Y was there. He did nothing else to make it appear so Im just wondering if they are playing catch up with peoples accounts. We dont have DVIC showing for disney visa but we just decided to leave well enough.alone for the time being..lol
Kind of thinking the DVIC affiliation really doesn’t matter given you don’t get the associated discount unless you pay with the Disney Visa anyway. I’m with you….don’t mess with it.

FYI, my Disney Visa is gone too. I agree that we may be seeing people’s accounts updating with correct info!

Another member here who purchased resale before the cut-off. My affiliation has "DVC ND", but I am eligible for discounts. I dug out my plastic cards (with 12-31 expiration) for my impending trip and grabbed a screenshot of my temporary card on the website. Hopefully that's enough to get my food discounts.... b'cause I'm hungry.
Where do you see this "affiliation" designation?

I already had a magic pass on my iPhone's Wallet, but didn't show any affiliations, so I deleted it and added a new one and it still doesn't show any affiliations. I have a blue card. Do I have to choose the DVC style to see those?

The style doesn't make a difference. I'd suggest deleting the card and then in MDE updating your phone number then creating and adding the card again. I got it to add the affiliation on an iphone by doing that trick that has been posted here.

Hi, I was unsuccessful in this method. I did a chat with DVC member services. They are aware of the issue and have a form to submit. Took 24 hours and my affiliation is now showing.z

Sadly no.
I had correct affiliations a few days ago - DVC Y and DVIC. They disappeared. I did nothing in between.
Can you imagine this happens in the middle of a trip? The quality of Disney IT is ridiculous.

Many are reporting that DVIC and Castaway club disappeared but yours is first to hear DVC Y went away. Uggg

On what planet is asking people to pull out their phones, open their digital wallet, click on the info button, scroll down to the affiliations, show a DVC-Y vs a DVC-ND vs a DVC letter sequence in a tiny white font supposed to be easier for a cast member to tell who qualifies for a discount when a blue vs. white picture was cripilin’ the system?

Making ALL members jump through all these hoops just to prevent white card members from getting 10% off a meal is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

Honest question: what are they going to do for members without apple wallet, or the Google thing, or a smart phone. They have to have something in place right? Can they add it to the key to the world card like we got at our last stay because we didn’t have tickets or room key attached to a phone because we just don’t use it that well

If the purpose is to eventually just tap it like you do when you enter the park, and it automatically applies the discount it does.

I am not sure this entire digital version was for the sole purpose of blue vs white. I think it’s because Disney is doing this digital piece for everything and this is the start for how all discounts will be applied, not just DVC.

Good morning. My "DVC Y" affiliation magically returned over night. The DVIC did not. It's less important to me so I am definitely going to wait a while before I take any action. So far
  1. I installed the card and my proper affiliations showed up automatically
  2. Roughly a week later they both disappeared
  3. The next day one of them reappeared.
Everything is very fluid right now. Unless you have an somewhat imminent visit I would install your card, but not do much troubleshooting if the affiliations are not perfectly set up.

As of the current information, there is nothing in place.

You must use Magic Mobile pass downloaded to one of those.

And the FAQ says just use a smartphone if you don’t have one..like someone else’s. I did read there may be something a CM will have that allows you to pull it up but again, not sure how that would work in practice…

This makes me wonder if that will mean screenshots won’t be allowed if things can update on their own?

They know it’s glitchy right now so some leeway may be give. but moving forward ,It will be interesting if they don’t take them.

Since my DVIC is gone too, I am going to update my screenshot for this week.

Obviously the consensus is that blue card holders are exclusively eligible for the merchandise and dining discounts, but I have never thought this was completely clear:

“Membership Extras, such as exchange options in the Disney Collection and all of the Concierge Collection, certain discounts, offers, and special events are incidental benefits.”

If blue card holders were exclusively eligible for discounts, then why use the word “certain” in there?

I am a white card holder, and am not afraid to say I have received discounts on both merchandise and dining in the past (in fact, I have never NOT received these discounts), because presenting a blue card was asked for, nor required by, the CM. All I have ever been asked is: “Are you a DVC member?” I answered yes. I showed my white card and ID. I got the discount.

My new digital card shows the correct “DVC ND” affiliation. And if I no longer get discounts as a result, oh well - no big deal. After all, that’s what I was led to believe when I bought the contract. But it will also mean not purchasing as much as I have in years past, ultimately helping my wallet and hurting Disney.

Here’s a question I have:

Has anyone with a “DVC ND” affiliation actually tried to obtain a discount as of yet with the new card? If so, what happened?

I believe all members are able to get discounts on cash reservations for DVC rooms so they don't say all discounts.
