Our family is headed to DL in a few weeks and we are considering buying a digital gift card from Sams Club to save a few bucks. If I put the gift card into my Apple wallet on my phone am I able to use it for places that don’t take mobile orders by just scanning the bar code?

From what I’ve read I will have to type in the card number each time for mobile orders. Is this still the case?

Yes, for mobile orders you still need to type in the number. Best thing to do is save it in a note or document on your phone and just copy/paste each time.

For the digital cards, yes they can just scan the bar code at the register. Or if you have an empty hard copy card, you can use disneygiftcard.com to transfer the digital gift card to a plastic card

I am curious about this as I have read about people being able to add Disney digital gift cards to Apple Wallet but I have no idea if they can be taken as a contactless payment at Disneyland.

If it does work, that would be a really convenient way to use gift cards, and since mobile ordering takes Apple Pay as well, you might get away from needing to enter in the number every time.
