We are in search of buying a digital camera. I have been doing some research and am leaning toward the OlympusD540. Does anyone have this camera, and what are your thoughts.
Also is there a website where I can compare prices on digital cameras. As always, thanks for all of your help...Janet :D

You can do an internet search for this camera. Just go to your search function on your browser and type in Olympus D540. Lots of info comes up.

I think epinons.com will give you a list of sites that carry that camera along with the price. I would highly recommend newegg.com if the price looks decent. I just checked at this link and the price is $177 with free shipping.

I bought an Olympus C-750UZ about 8 months ago and love it! The pictures are great and the camera is easy to use. I build computers on the side and I order 90% of the equipment from newegg. I've been using them for about 2 years and I just can't beat the price anywhere else. Not to mention they deliver everything within 4 days max. When I bought my camera newegg was $100 cheaper than any local business. And they have the US warranty too. Some of the cheaper online places don't sell with a US warranty, so if the camera breaks you have to send to Thiland or someplace for repair.

I have to say I did a search and recent purchased the Nikon Coolpix 4300 and I was worried because I've always been a huge 35 mm camera person. I have to have quality, at least 115 mm zoom.

I found the Nikon 4300 was a good deal. I purchased it for about $305 and there is a $50 rebate on it. Every store I looked a was charging $400 and over

I was able to play with it for 10 days and then had the pictures developed at our local Eckerd. They are so good that no one knew they where from a digital camera. I love it. I'm still trying to figure out a few things. And the memory card was a little low but I figured I'll invest in several cards before leaving for Disney. Also it has a rechargeable battery which is good but I will buy at least 1 or 2 more for our trip. This way I only have to bring the new camera and not lug 3 cameras around, 35mm, digital and camcorder.

Good luck and happy picture taking. :D

Just as a thought, Office Depot now has the Nikon Coolpix 3100 which has very similar features for $259-$100 rebate-$20 using coupon code 54725712 for a total price of $139 with free shipping!! That's a pretty strong price for that camera. Just to make it easy, here's the link to the Office Depot website. Some folks have reported problems with the online ordering of this camera, but a call to the customer service center usually clears everything up.
