For those that have a digital camera with a LCD, do you use the LCD or the normal viewfinder when shooting freehanded (not on tripod or other stationary object) I have heard that it is better with todays smaller cameras to use the viewfinder, I guess your nose helps stable the camera or something. Anyone else have an opinion or fact?

We've had our camera for about 6 mths now and we've never used the viewfinder.

We've had our digital for going on 1 year and I find it's easier to use the viewfinder............. also saves on batteries too.:)

I personally do use the viewfinder more than the LCD screen... and I've been using digital for over 2 years now. I use the LCD for close up shots of maybe a flower to make sure I have it framed 100% perfectly, for manual focus if I need to set that myself and for tough to see shots (since I am short). Oh I also use the LCD if I am sneaking a shot or two of people. For me, I do feel the camera is more steady feeling by my face as well, but I don't know if that makes a true difference since 90% of my shots are done with a view finder so I don't have much to compare with. Oh and the view finder is usually easier to see through in bright light conditions.

it's better to use the viewfinder with anysize camera..holding the camera close to your face pulls your arms into your body creating a much steadier support for the camera..

slowly pressing the shutter release will also reduce camera shake resulting in fewer blurred pics..many people press the shutter quickly thereby creating camera movement or shake...

ROTFLMAO I didn't know I had a choice! I use the LCD screen. :D

*checking to see if I HAVE a viewfinder!* LOL LOL LOL

I use the view finder about 90% of the time.

I use view finder can't stand using LCD screen

LCD almost 100% of the time, rarely use viewfinder, only for exceptionally bright sun glare.

On some cameras, the viewfinder does not perfectly create the "frame" of the digital picture. Stability is definitely better with the camera plastered against your face.

I have to use the viewfinder with my current camera, but I used to use the LCD screen in my Sony digital.

Viewfinder. I don't like the LCD except to look at photos ;D
