I really, really need a new digital camera. I have an Olympus now (it's about 7 yrs old) and takes horrible pictures. I can't take close up picutres that aren't blurry. So it's time for a new one. I need one that's:

-Fairly easy to use.
-Shutter speed is quick
-Takes a lithium battery or another rechargable battery
-Takes good close up pictures
-Under $200

Suggestions?

Cannon!

I prefer the ones that take rechargable batteries. I bought one pack of 4 AA batteries and that's enough for a whole day at WDW including video of shows. My camera takes 2 AA batteries and then I have 2 spare. They are much cheaper and easier to replace than the lithium batteries.

I have the 710 IS. It takes great video and photos and is super easy to use. It's quite a few years old now.

I had a Canon before & it was awesome. Wanted a waterproof camera for this trip since I'm planning on mostly hitting the water parks and ended up with the Fujifilm XP10 and I'm LOVING it! Had read a couple less than amazing reviews but actually using it around the house it's been really good. Shutter speed can be a little slow but I think that's more to do with the button being different and my not being used to that kind of button.

Canon SD 1400

I have one and it works great.

Just purchased a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7 at Costco and got a memory card and little bag included. It seems like a good little camera. Think it was $199

My brother and SIL just bought this one. They seem to like it.

My suggestion is a Casio Exilim. It gets pretty high ratings and is great for a pocket digital camera. My favorite part of the camera is the preset Best Shot settings. My camera is a couple years old and has like 15+ preset Best Shot settings (night, low light, sports, etc). It also takes good video as well (just make sure you get a big memory card). :)

Does anyone have a Fuji SLR-Style? I just bought a 12MP, 18x Optical zoom fuji with HD movie mode on QVC for a really good price. I'm very picky about cameras and have hated every one I've had in the last few years. I'm hoping this is a good one!! If you have any reviews of it, please let me know!

I *love* canons. Have never had one that's a dud, we've had a lot of cameras over the years (I got my first digi cam waaaaaaaay back in the late 90's). Anyhow, another thing to consider I know you said you wanted a lithium battery but I prefer the double A's. We have a recharger and rechargable batteries (not expensive, especially if you can grab them on sale) and the key to me is this: If my battery ever dies in the middle of WDW I'll probably be able to find some more double A's really easy. You can't do that with a lithium battery. The same applies for when the lithium battery starts to age and not hold it's charge as well, the double a's are a lot easier to replace.
