digital camera question

let me start this off by saying, i work in a photolab and develop digital pictures all day long. having said that.. i do not own a digital camera! im going to disney in 3 weeks and my brother is lending me his. how many pictures should i be able to fit on a 1G card if im using a 5 megapixel camera?
