Does anyone know if Digital Camera Memory Cards are able to be packed in a carry-on or should they be packed in checked luggage??

I can't remember what is safe for Memory Cards.

Don't put anything in your luggage you can't afford to lose. Take them in your carry on. They will be fine.

Then it's okay to put the digital cards through the X-Ray machine that the screeners make you put your carry-on baggage through?

Yes. No problems with memory cards or digital cameras going through the scanner.

I've been told by TSA workers that it is better to have them in your Carry Ons over your checked bags. The "x-rays" screenings for checked bags is "stronger" and more likely to damage.

The real reason not to check them is theft.
