If you want decent pictures, don't waste your money on the kids ones. I got DS the Disney/Mickey Mouse one (from the
Disney Store - a lot like the FP one) and it has horrible response time (kids do NOT have the patience to hold still that long after pushing the button!) and the images, even on the highest setting are junk. Same goes for the FP one. Plus, they are SO big and bulky. If the kids want to take them anywhere, it's a PITA.
It's a bit over $20, but less than the FP and Mickey Mouse camera, but there is
a camera in the disneyoutlet.com for $32 I believe these have had good reports. Just don't get the 1mp camera. It has Mix in the name too, but not Mix
MAX. The less expensive Mix does not have a flash or a screen on the back, according to reports I've read. The Mix MAX does have both a flash and a view screen on the back.
I'd also suggest checking ebay for digital cameras. Lots of the super cheap stuff are broken (being sold for parts basically) so you need to read the listing carefully, but you should be able to find a cheap camera there for your little one!
I just found two for 20 + 5 shipping -- do a search for Kids Jazz 3 in1 Digital on ebay to see them. They are listed as new, so they
should be fine.
ETA -- check with friends!!! Maybe they are wanting to upgrade that old digital camera they have! Offer them $10 or $20 for their old one. I wish I'd thought of that before I got rid of my Olympus. I wanted a new camera that was smaller - fit better in my purse etc. I sold my old one on Craigslist fo $15. Should have kept it for my son!
